Hey, Did you know it’s Hot?

Oh hey, sorry for the disappearing act yesterday I was too busy roaming around town in a heat and booze induced stupor to blog.  Kidding, sort of.  I was working from home yesterday morning until 11, at which point I subjected myself to the disgusting weather, got on the metro, and made my way to the National Museum of American History to meet up with the rest of my work department.

Now I’m a huge loser and love museums, so I was actually kind of excited about this trip, and the subsequent scavenger hunt we were participating in while there.  We were split up into teams, given our clue sheet (cryptic questions that needed deciphering), and sent out into the museum for an hour and a half.  My team didn’t do very well, mostly because not everyone is as smart as me and they were wandering slowly through the museum.  Oh well, it was still fun.

After the scavenger hunt ended, it was back on the sweat box, I mean metro, and out to Crystal City for snacks and refreshments.  After a lovely stroll in the sunshine from the metro station to Jaleo, I arrived dripping with sweat and ready to quench my thirst with sangria.  Luckily I had just enough time to chug two glasses before the free drinks ended and it turned into a cash bar.  Then I paid $6.50 for a Hoegaarden because I was still thirsty.  The only food I managed so snag before the vultures got to it was three mini hot dogs… I was more concerned with booze.  The day ended at 3:30, at which point my lovely roommate was kind enough to drive my buzzed and heat stricken ass home.  There was more wine later last night while I packed and did laundry for this weekend.

Wednesday was a much regular day, so I won’t go into it much.  I did manage to do two full circuits of the Spartacus workout and 20 minutes on the elliptical so that was good.  Other than that, nothing really worth mentioning that I can remember.

The roommates and I are off to the beach this afternoon and won’t be returning until Monday, which means the blog won’t until Tuesday.  I’ll probably post random things on my Facebook page throughout the weekend, so feel free to check in there.  Tomorrow we will be here, doing lots of this.  Have a good weekend!
