Bloggy Date

Last night I was fortunate enough to have this pretty lady accompany me to dinner!  I met Kacy outside the metro station in Clarendon around 6:30 and the two of us ventured over to Harry’s Tap Room to enjoy some dinner and drinks.  The last time I was at Harry’s was the night of my 23rd birthday party, and I remembered the food as delicious and the wine list as extensive.  I was correct on both counts.

Kacy and I both started with a glass of the  Sawbuck Vineyards Malbec, and it was pretty great in my opinion.  I’ve tried my share of Malbec’s over the past three years and this one rates high on my list.  Then, as an appetizer I ordered the Roasted Red Pepper and Crab Soup.  It was a red pepper puree with lump blue crab, and kind of tasted like tomato soup with chunks of crab meat.  It was tangy and sweet, and the crab meat was plentiful.

I was having trouble deciding on an entrée, and Kacy and I had to tell our waiter three times to come back in a few minutes, haha.  Eventually I decided on the Tagliatelle Ala Creme, Tagliatelle pasta, all natural chicken, mushrooms, bacon, and a Parmesan cream sauce.  It was really good, but now that I’m thinking back on it, I don’t remember tasting any chicken.  Hmm, interesting. Either way, I liked it.

While we ate, we both indulged in another glass of wine and chatted and chatted and chatted.  That’s one of the things I love most about meeting fellow bloggers.  There is never a lull in the conversation, and you can talk about everything because most likely you both are reading the same blogs, and you already know what the other has been up to for months.  Although, I agree with Amy on something, the more bloggers I meet the more convinced I am that I am freakishly tall.  Especially in heels.  Thirty minutes after our waiter dropped the check off on our table, Kacy and I finally paid and ended our dinner date.  We said our goodbyes at the metro, and I told her to come back again soon so we could go out again!

After dinner I headed home and relaxed on the couch for a little bit with this fur ball before calling it a night.

I think she is cold and trying to burrow into the couch to stay warm.  I’m with her, the temperatures here this week have been absurdly and unseasonably cold.  I maintain that if it’s going to be this cold it should at least snow, and apparently it might a little bit on Sunday night depending on if the temperature drops enough.  We’ll see.

No set plans for the weekend yet, one of the roommates is in Orlando so it’s just two of us until Monday.  I’m sure we’ll manage to find a way to entertain ourselves :).  Happy Friday everyone!

  3. Right?!?! I think there’s something in the water where I grew up. Because I never felt abnormally tall until I moved.

I love how blogger meetups last about twice as long as expected… so fun!
