Wowzers sorry I’m posting so late today, but my morning at work has been spent moving from one office to another, and I’m just getting my computer back now!  Anyway, so happy Wednesday, we’re officially half way through the week, I’m leaving for vacation in 2 days and the only thing I’ve packed so far is bathing suits.  I should probably get on that huh?  The boyfriend arrives tomorrow, so I definitely need to get a majority of the packing done tonight.

Last nights workout was pretty standard, Yoga Meltdown.  I’m finally mastering the rolling t’s and side plank, which to me is almost as hard as the chatarunga push-ups because they hurt my wrists.  I blame all my years of gymnastics on this.  What wasn’t standard, was this:

Yup, I am now officially registered for the Philadelphia Half Marathon on November 21.  I’m already nervous.  I’ll probably start working on a plan in the next few weeks, and then training will officially start at the end of August.  I wanted to do the Philly Rock and Roll half, but one of my bff’s is getting married that weekend and I don’t think that is really a logical idea.

Because we are in the process of clearing out the fridge and freezer before vacation, dinner was a little random.  Some Kraft Mac and Cheese, and half a turkey and bacon wrap.

Look at that cheezy goodness.  I thought I had a slight dilemma on my hands when I realized there was no milk, but I just substituted the 1/4 of milk for a 1/4 of water and there was absolutely no difference.  Still creamy, cheezy, and delicious!

Out of pure boredom last night, I watched Yes Man with Jim Carrey and actually really enjoyed it.  The few glasses of wine I drank while watching may have helped that, but it was still a cute and funny movie.  If you’re in the mood for a silly Jim Carrey flick, I recommend this one.

Alright well I hope everyone has a great day, I plan on taking advantage of the much cooler temps today and going for a run outside after work.  It was so glorious out this morning, I wish I could have run then, but responsibility and 7 am start times call.

Guard and Protect her Heart

First things first.

Dear boyfriend,
Just because we are in a long-term, committed relationship that does not mean we have to share EVERYTHING.  I do not like this scratchy throat, annoying cough, or runny, stuffy nose.  Please take them all back and keep your germs to yourself next time.
Love,
Me

Ok, moving on.  After four days of pounding the pavement in NYC and two weekend runs, my body was craving a break from the impact and a good stretch.  I turned on Yoga Meltdown and got to work.  Maybe the chatarunga push-ups felt a little less like torture?  The rolling t’s and side plank still make me want to cry though.  How long have I been doing this now?  Like once or twice a week for three weeks or so?  If I weren’t so lazy I could go back and check, but that sounds about right.  Hopefully I start to notice some changes soon.

We leave for vacation next weekend, so food wise it’s kind of make do with what we got for the next two weeks.  Luckily, last night “what we got” was a can of black beans and a can of corn.  Throw some veggies and cheese in a wrap, and it’s quesadilla night!

Stuffed to the brim with purple onion, and red and yellow peppers along with the beans and cheese.  Delightful.  Dinner was followed by a desert of one Raspberry and one Strawberry Milano cookie, even more delightful.  Then it was time for The Bachelorette, the most awkward two hours on television.  Last night they were in Iceland, hiking on volcanoes with booted feet, and getting drunk in nature made hot tubs.  At one point Ali was visibly tanked, and was struggling very hard, it was hilarious.   (Spoiler Alert!)

Thankfully, crazy Kasey was sent home last night.  My favorite part was when Ali was talking to the cameras and said, “All Kasey has to do tonight is be normal.”  Epic fail.  He whipped out the protect and guard your heart tattoo and he was donezo.  I can’t wait to see the drama that unfolds next week in Istanbul, Turkey!

Alright friends, try not to hate Tuesday too much.  Have a great one!

21 Day Cardio Body and Yoga Meltdown

Last night I utilized Exercise TV again, and did two workout videos.  I did the Brooklyn Decker Cardio Body workout, and then decided to check out Jillian’s Yoga Meltdown.  I’ve heard so much about it and how intense it is and I wanted to see for myself.  Here’s Pumpkin all ready to workout with me.

Doing two videos in a row might have been a little ambitious, because holy crap was I exhausted by the end.  My sister paused the TV during Jillian at one point and laughed, and was like you know you’re only half way done?  I thought for sure my arms were going to fall off of my body.  I kept waiting for her to tell us to push back into Child’s Pose, but I should have known there is no resting with Jillian.  I loved it though, and am now considering purchasing the actual DVD and will revisit level one through exercise TV as soon as I can move my triceps again.  Pumpkin gave up half way through, and went right to the bathing process.

For some reason, after a strenuous workout (especially when I know my muscles will be screaming the next day) I want nothing more than a giant glass of red wine.  Ok well I most always want a giant glass of red wine, but I’m convinced it keeps me from getting as sore also.  I schlepped across the street to the liquor/grocery store, picked up a bottle of Malbec, and some tortelloni.  Our off button for the oven currently isn’t working, so uh using it isn’t an option.

I used my toaster oven to roast some asparagus with olive oil, salt, and pepper and put that on the bottom of my plate.

Then I added the pasta, sauce, and a sprinkle of shredded Mozzarella.

It was good, and the addition of the asparagus made it a much more filling meal.  The sauce was a little bland for my taste, so I think when I use it again I’ll add some more seasoning to it.  Overall a quick, delicious, and healthy meal.

Tonight is hopefully my very last PT appointment.  I’ve realized I’m so nervous about working out though and am afraid to push myself because of my leg.  I still just keep expecting it to hurt, I wonder how long it will take before I trust my body again?

Have a great Thursday everyone, it’s almost the weekend!  Or if you’re my two jerky friends, today is your Friday.
