Weather and the World Cup

Um, I’ve been sitting staring at the computer for a while now trying to think of something interesting to write about, I still haven’t come up with anything so bear with me.  When all else fails, write about the weather right?  Well we’re in the midst of a heat wave over here in the Northeast with highs in the mid 90s, but feeling like 100.  Because of this I will unfortunately be forced back inside a gym and onto a treadmill for the next few days.

Last night on the boring treadmill, I did a 5 minute walking warm-up followed by 3 miles at a .5 incline increasing my pace each mile.  Mile 1 at 6.2 mph, mile 2 at 6.5, and then mile 3 ranging from 6.7-8.0.  Then I walked for a few more minutes to cool down.  It was a good run, I tried to focus on keeping my stride how it is when I run outside and my shoulders relaxed and loose.  I definitely missed my Garmin and the outside.

I’m still feeling a little tenderness on the inside part of my right knee and the back outside area from when I hyperextended it stupidly two weeks ago.  So I think I will take a day off from the workouts tonight.  It doesn’t hurt to walk or run on, just when I press on a certain spot and when I bend my leg all the way so my heel is touching my butt.  I don’t think it’s anything that rest and ice won’t cure.

Dinner last night was burgers I had made with some leftover ground beef and pasta salad.

My burger with a slice of Provolone cheese, lettuce, ketchup, and mayonnaise.

Tri-color Rotini pasta with carrots, cucumber, peppers, cherry tomatoes and Mozzarella cheese.  After dinner, my sister and I sat on the couch watching the horrible programming that makes up summer television, Wipeout and Downfall.  I don’t know why, but I find Wipeout one of the most entertaining shows, I would really love to go there and play on the course.  I think it would be the most fun thing ever.  Downfall is a new trivia game where they drop crap off the side of a building.  I just played along and made fun of how much the contestants didn’t know.

I’m currently listening to the USA/Algeria game on my headphones at work, hopefully I’ll be able to control any cheers or screams.  GO USA!
