Core Work

Heeey, happy Friday everyone, we made it.  I had a meeting at work yesterday afternoon that went until after 5 pm, so traffic was a monster by the time I finally hit the road to drive home.  It was going on 7 pm by the time I finally got home, so I opted to do my workout there instead of at the gym.

As I mentioned yesterday the Daily Burn ap provides workouts for you to do three days a week, and yesterdays was a core workout.  I did a 10 minute warm-up in my living room that consisted of jumping rope, mountain climbers, jabs, and hopping back and forth over my yoga mat.  I remembered the cardio warm-up moves from back when I used to do the Brooklyn Decker workouts on exercise TV.  Whatever, they worked.  Then I did the core moves.

Not particularly difficult by any means, but I’m hoping it was affective.  I actually enjoyed the Superman’s the most because I tend to forget to work those muscles.  After that workout I decided to walk to 7-11 to pick up a frozen pizza and sprite zero to enjoy with my vodka for dinner.  From my house and back it’s about 1.6 miles, I know you were curious.

This weekend is looking pretty typical so far, no plans for tonight as of yet, and then kickball shenanigans tomorrow.  I’m not making the trek home for Mother’s Day because I have to go home for my sisters college graduation next weekend, and I refuse to do that drive two weeks in a row.  No thank you.  Who’s got fun plans for the weekend?  Mother’s Day related or  not.

Roommate Night

So last night, was a good night.  Thanks for all the nice comments again yesterday, you guys are the best and really helped cheer me up.  I got home from work, just as the freezing rain/snow was starting to fall and found the roommates doing something with a chicken.  The sink was running full pressure, and an entire chicken was sitting in a pot under it.  I ignored the scene for a minute while I poured myself a vodka drink, and then inquired as to what the hell was going on.  Apparently that chicken (our dinner) was still frozen and they were trying to remedy the situation.  I offered to get my blow dryer, since it’s pretty effective in defrosting poultry but they said they had it under control.  Fine with me, as I was more than happy to recline on the couch with my drink in front of the fire.

I drank a lot of vodka, and then a lot of wine, and the three of us enjoyed a dinner of mashed potatoes, roasted chicken, and broccoli.  Yes, I do have a headache today and sadly we didn’t get enough snow to keep me home.  But it sure did look pretty when I was driving in this morning.

Yes, I am taking pictures while driving.  I’m a risk taker like that.  In other news, look what arrived on my front porch last night just in time for the snow!

Love them, they are comfy and keep my feet toasty warm and dry.  Because of last nights snow, Dani’s friend Emily came and crashed at our house after work instead of driving back home to Maryland.  This is exciting because of where she works and what she brought us.

A whole box full of delicious Georgetown Cupcakes.  I may or may not have eaten a Red Velvet one for breakfast.  Thanks Emily!  So it’s Wednesday already, huh?  Good, I’m more than ready for the weekend to be here.  So unless you live in Florida, I hear it snowed where you are last night.  How much did everyone get?


Make a wish!  Haha I’m one of the dorks that always makes a wish if I catch the clock at 11:11, so hopefully today will be full of good luck and wish making.  So thanks to everyone yesterday for their positive and wonderful comments, if not for you guys I probably would have been drinking by noon.  Some of my real life friends were not nearly as supportive, and were actually kind of judgmental and harsh.  So yeah, yesterday was rough, as can be expected when you’re getting yelled and cursed at all day.  Here’s to hoping today is better.

Needless to say, by the time the end of the day rolled around, I was more than ready to head home and hit the bottle.  I managed to talk myself into a run, thinking that would help get rid of some of the negative energy.  It helped, a little.  I still went home after the gym and made a vodka and soda.  Nothing notable about the work out, 3.2 miles, 10 minutes on the stair mill.

Something that is notable, apparently I am completely incapable of tending to a fire without burning the shit out of myself.

Yes, those are three burns, all in a row.  I have no idea, someone keep me away from the fireplace.  Today, I will be sitting at my desk and staring out the window waiting for it to start snowing, and listening to the country music radio station because it is commercial free Tuesday.  And I’m an emotional cutter.

I don’t really have much to say today, still kind of in a crappy mood.  So, instead leave me some suggestions of things I must see and do in Chicago in March.  Already mentally noted is Deep Dish pizza.  Enjoy your Tuesday.
