Target Gets Me Again

As promised, here is a picture from our Super Bowl party on Sunday.  We had a good crowd, with both Steelers and Packers fans present, it was almost as fun as our Super  Bowl parties during our college days.

Apparently I underestimated just how tired I was from our party Sunday, because the second I started running last night I knew I wasn’t making it to 5 miles.  I did 3 at about a 9:30 pace, and followed it up with 2 on the elliptical.  So technically I did 5 miles, they just weren’t all on the treadmill.  Then I sent Darren this picture and asked if he still found me attractive, surprisingly he said yes.

My hair was straight when I started my workout, but I was sweating so much that where the bottom of my ponytail was hitting my back and shoulders it became wet and curly.  Isn’t that hot?  I hate Monday nights because they usually involve some sort of errand after my workout, which means dinner is late, which means I get very cranky.  Last night was no different.  I went over to Target to pick up some things for V-Day and walked out $161 poorer, but with only one bag of things.  How does that happen?  Damn you Target.  One of the things I purchased was this!

The Pioneer Woman’s new book!  Yes, I’ve read the version posted on her blog, but I want more!  The wedding, the honeymoon, it’s all so exciting, I can’t wait.  I got through about 70 pages last night before I went to bed.  By the time I got home from Target it was already 8, and the only thing I could think about for dinner was Buffalo Chicken Dip.  That’s a balanced meal right?  No?  Crap.

I’ve got a question for ya’ll.  So one of my random purchases last night at Target was a coffee bean grinder so that I can finally use the bag of Starbucks Christmas Blend coffee Adrienne got me for Christmas.  I totally failed on the quantity of beans to water ratio this morning, so how many scoops of beans do you use for one cup?  I’ve got no clue.  My coffee was not nearly strong enough this morning, that will be a shame for me later.  Help please.  K peace out kids.

I Made It!

Well I officially live in Virginia now!  Pumpkin and I hit the road yesterday morning around 9 am, and three hours later (after a minor incident with someone having an accident in their crate) I was parking in front of my new house.  My roommates were waiting with open arms, and ready to help me unload my car.  Luckily all my beautiful furniture arrived without a problem and was ready and all set up in my room when I arrived.

We made quick progress of the unpacking, and before I knew it my bed was made and the clothes were hung up in my closet, and the three of us were running out the front door to head to Target.  Yup, I was in my house for approximately two hours before our first Target trip was necessary.  We picked up a million Christmas decorations so that we could immediately start decorating together, and our little tree is now complete.

Pumpkin is slowly settling in and getting used to our new surroundings, although she still follows me every time I leave a room, I think she’ll get used to it soon though.  To celebrate my first night in our new house, the three of us stayed home enjoying some adult beverages and playing in the house together.

I am so incredibly happy and excited to finally live here in VA with my best friends, but I will really miss all the great Philly friends I made and of course my mom and sister.  It’s weird sitting here and realizing I don’t have to make a three-hour trip home later because I am home!  My first day of work is tomorrow and I am very nervous about that, haha, I hope they still like me.

I just made my grocery list for the week and plan to head to the store with Adrienne in a little bit, we’ll see how my first attempt at meal planning for myself for the week goes.  Happy Sunday!

TOMORROWWW!  Yup just one more day of work to get through, and then 7 glorious days at the beach.  Yesterday was a day full of pain and disappointment.  Is it inappropriate to talk about my bikini wax on here?  Yes?  Ok good, I’m going for it.

Now, I’ve had two other bikini waxes in my life, one before I went on my cruise in 2008 and one before my cruise in 2006.  Neither were a full Brazilian, but this time I decided to just go for it.  The place I went to yesterday used a hard wax as opposed to soft wax and strips of cloth, which was also a whole new experience for me.  Instead of putting the wax on and using the cloth to pull it off, this wax goes on somewhat soft, hardens, and then is just pulled off.  It sucked.  Now granted I’ve never been through child-birth, but I feel like it’s kind of the same.  I have to forget how badly this hurt before putting myself through it again.  Or I just might not ever do it again, and if childbirth hurts as badly, I’m never doing that either.  Do you think they give epidurals for bikini waxes?

30 minutes later, I hobbled to the train station to pick up the bf, and off we went to Target for some last minute errands.  $120 later we were out of there, I can’t even tell you what we bought that totaled that much, and I decided to reward myself with the best pizza ever for my traumatizing afternoon.  I went in and placed my order for my Old Fashioned pizza, Buffalo Mozzarella, Plum tomato sauce, basil, and olive oil.  The bf and I ran to the liquor store to pick up a bottle of wine while it was being made, and then I went back in to pick it up.  Now, I’m kicking myself because I almost checked to make sure it was right, but just signed the receipt and left.  I got home, starving, ready to dive in, opened the pizza box and wanted to cry.

Instead of my delicious pizza, I was faced with the worst pizza ever.  A Mediterranean Pizza with Feta (I hate Feta), black olives (hate them too), roasted red pepper (nope not a fan), garlic, and mozzarella cheese.  Those are the only two ingredients I liked.  I wanted to cry, I even considered getting in the car and driving 20 minutes back to the restaurant , but it was already almost 8:00 and the bf and I were both starving.  So, we sucked it up, picked off everything but the cheese and tried to make the best of it.  I mean really, Mediterranean and Old Fashioned don’t even sound similar!  Worst disappointment, ever.  I took a picture of the worst pizza ever, but I forgot my camera at home, so instead here’s a picture of the pizza we should have been eating.

Sigh, I still want to cry thinking about it.  Thank god we had gotten a bottle, ok two bottles, of wine.  Imagine if there hadn’t been wine?  I suppose I’ll get over it eventually, but just not yet.

The boyfriend dropped me off at work this morning so that he could have a car for the day, I think he is planning on playing some golf and enjoying suburbia.  I’m a little nervous because his whole family has mentioned to me on more than one occasion that he’s not the best driver in the world.  You break it you buy it baby cakes!

Tonight we have a few more errands to run, and then we’re going to one of our favorite restaurants for dinner.  Hopefully this dinner will help me forget the pizza disaster of 2010.  I’m going to try to squeeze some Jillian into my afternoon, since I didn’t get to yesterday, and then it’s early to bed for our 4 am wake-up call!  As of right now I am planning on posting once a day still while I’m on vacation, but you know how it goes, sometimes time gets away from you.  I’ll definitely be posting though, so check in!

I hope everyone has a great Friday, and enjoys the holiday weekend!
