Oh Monday

Blah, I can’t believe it is Monday again already.  Did anyone else look at their calendar this morning and go “holy crap it’s almost April!”?  Because I sure did.  I hope it doesn’t seem like the summer months fly by as fast as these past few.  Anyway I spent another good three hours in my backyard yesterday, and rigged this up for Pumpkin so she could come out without me worrying about her escaping under the fence.

She was not a fan.  Then she figured out if she pulled hard enough the safety release on her collar would snap and she was free.  So back inside she went.  I tried.  Why is it that after a long day in the sun a cold beer sounds like the most refreshing beverage in the world?  I gave into the temptation and drank this icy brew like it was water, which I suppose can be argued that it mostly is.

It was probably the most delicious Bud Light that I have ever tasted.  I was scorched after two consecutive days in the sun.

For the life of me last night I could not decide what I wanted for dinner.  I looked at all the takeout menus for places around me, the Red Robin menu, nothing was really winning me over.  Finally I got off my butt and drove to the grocery store to check out their prepared foods section.  The second I saw them sitting in the case, I knew it was what I wanted.  Crab Cakes!  After a long summery feeling day in the sun, they would be the perfect ending.

Crab cakes, asparagus seasoned with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder, and french fries.  I was going to make my own french fries, but when I looked in the bag of potatoes all of them were growing very funky roots so I just bought a bag of classic Or Ida Fries and sprinkled them with seasoned salt.

I ate about one and a half crab cakes and all the asparagus and fries.  They were so good and you could really see and taste the crab meat as opposed to just breading.  After dinner, there was a lot of watching Pumpkin do this.  Which is so amusing and I tend to spend a lot of time watching.

There’s cat nip in the little ball that hangs on the end, the whole thing is suctioned to that cabinet.

And then this happened.  I watched for a while to see if she could figure out what to do, but eventually she just looked at me and started meowing so I had to help her out haha.

All in all it was a pretty relaxing Sunday, and weekend in general which is exactly how I like it sometimes.  I watched Kendra last night, Hank is such a cute husband.  She’s really struggling with her body image lately and he’s just so cute and loving, it’s adorable, and baby Hank is sooo cute.  That stupid show after about those idiot 3 girls though makes me want to strangle someone.  I can’t handle it.

Well Happy Monday everyone, hope you all had a great weekend!

Cheeeeseburger in Paradise

I hope everyone’s Sunday is looking as sunny and fabulous as mine!  I’m currently sitting on the couch sipping on my iced coffee and icing down my right hip and leg.  I went to the gym again this morning, and had a decent workout.

  • 5 min walking at 0.5 incline 4.4 mph
  • 5 min running at 0.5 incline 6.8 mph (only five minutes because that’s when my knee started to hurt)
  • 5 min walking at 6.5 incline 4.4 mph
  • 33 min on the elliptical

In order to not get insanely bored on the elliptical, lately I have been sprinting for the chorus of songs, and slowing down for the verses.  It gets the heart rate up better and keeps me more entertained.  After the cardio I did the upper body workout that I did the other day.  Toned arms and shoulders here I come!

The rest of my day yesterday was spent like this:

in my backyard.  It was delightful.  I found a lovely book in my moms room that I hadn’t read yet, and layed out from 1230-330 reading.  I am now sporting some pretty sexy tan lines :).

Whenever anyone is outside, poor little Pumpkin cries and cries from inside to come out also, so yesterday I felt bad and let her out with me.  She loves rolling on the warm concrete.

Then the little brat face crawled under the fence and I had to go chace after her, so she got banished back indoors where she layed in an open window and meowed at me.  Probably the most exciting part of our day was when a little mouse scampered across the patio, Pumpkin realllly wished she was still outside for that one, I thought she was going to jump through the window screen, haha.  I’m not a little concerned, because this mouse disappeared behind our brick chimney and never reappeared.  It may be living in our basement.  Gross.

For some reason whenever it is nice out I crave Cheeseburger in Paradise, and I cannot say that without then singing the song in my head.  Yesterday was no exception, luckily I was able to convince my mom and her bf to go there with me for dinner before they headed down to the beach.  I started out with a delicious Blackberry Sangria.

And my mom and I shared the Crab and Spinach dip as an appetizer.

Soooo yummy, I ate a lot more of this than what is pictured, haha.  For my meal I couldn’t decide whether I wanted to try and be somewhat healthy and order the Jerk Chicken wrap with grilled chicken, or indulge and order a delicious cheeseburger.  My mom is always willing to share and suggested I order the wrap and she order the burger and we split, which sounded perfect to me!

Soooo good.  Not going to lie, I cleaned my plate.  My mom ended up not eating her half of the wrap, so guess what Kelly’s having for lunch?! Woot, woot!  With my meal, I enjoyed this 22 oz Paradise Beach Ale.

Mmmm beer.  I love the beers that Cheeseburger has on tap, I can never decide between the Paradise Beach and the Landshark Lager, last night I wanted a darker beer so tha’s what I went with.  Needless to say I was stuffed after dinner, but it was so good and I hardly ever go there so it was worth it.  After dinner I came home and vegged on the couch, did you all see that Kansas vs. Northern Iowa game?!  Insane!  I can’t believe the overall number one seed was eliminated.  After that game was over, I decided to indulge in my Twilight guilty pleasure and ordered New Moon On Demand.  My attraction to Taylor Lautner is seriously inappropriate.  Also, thanks to some urging by Kelly and Pen via the Twitter world, I indulged in my other guilty please Vodka and Club Soda.  Haha thanks girls!

Alright well I’m off to change into my bikini and spend the rest of today like I spent yesterday!  Happy Sunday everyone.  Also, congrats to everyone who ran races today!  Pen, Amy, Leslie, Heather I bet you all rocked it!

A Burger and Fries

Happy Saturday everyone!  I’ve already been fairly productive for 11:30 am on a Saturday.  I woke up around 8 and had to pee, and I contemplated going back to bed, but decided to just get up and drag my butt to the gym.  I did about 35 minutes on the elliptical and then some abs with my friend Chris.  I had to book it home from the gym so that I could be on the computer at 10 when Kings of Leon tickets went on sale.  The bf and I are going to go see them on September 11 at the Virgina Beach Amphitheater!  Very excited about this.  I really wanted to grab an iced coffee this morning, so after I safely secured the tickets, I ventured back across the street, yes Sarbizzles is across the street and yes it’s dangerous, and got myself a Grande Non-fat Iced Caramel Machiatto.

Yesterday afternoon at work went by relatively fast.  Alexis and I took our lunches outside and it was gorgeous out.  This was the view we had while we ate.

Now seeing as I work at a Pharmaceutical Company, that lake could have any number of things in it, but the geese and lone swan we saw seemed to enjoy swimming in it.  I’ll leave that to them though.  A lot of the tables and chairs were flipped over and broken, it kind of looked like Godzilla had been there, I guess this winter was rough on patio furniture also.  Look what we saw when walking back inside!

Ta-da!  The flowers are coming, the flowers are coming!  That’s actually my favorite part of spring, I think the pretty pink flowers are so much prettier than the leaves.  Needless to say after an hour outside it was hard to go back to our windowless dreary office.  I couldn’t wait until it was time to get in my car and open the sunroof for my drive home.

My Friday night was very laid back and relaxed.  I made one of my Amy’s Veggie Burgers for dinner and some Sweet Potato Fries to go with it.  I liked the Amy’s burger, I’ll definitely be eating more of them soon.

After dinner I watched Did you Hear About the Morgans with Sarah Jessica Parker and Hugh Grant.  I really liked it, it was pretty funny.  Then Chris came over and we sat on the couch drinking some wine and watching more of the Tournament.  It was exactly how I like my Fridays, relaxed and at home.  I finally got to talk to the bf for a little bit also.  Apparently Lexington, VA is a cell service black hole and he hasn’t had any since early Friday afternoon.  Which means no bbms, and no phone calls :(.  It sucks, I miss my man, thankfully he is a great bf and called long distance from his hotel room.  He’ll be back in civilization (aka cell phone range) tomorrow and I can’t wait!  Alright I think it might be warm enough to lay outside now.  So I’m off to try and get a tan and read some outside.  I hope everyone enjoys their Saturday as well!
