Sigh… Life

Well I’m glad you all find Darren as amusing as I do!  Unfortunately I made the mistake of telling him that, and now he’s an even cockier SOB than usual.  Also, to further elaborate, Darren is a painter so he’s constantly in and out of people’s houses and telling me about their horrible decorating skills.  I think that also helps to explain why a paint brush is sexy to him :).

In other unfortunate news, I’m almost positive I somehow managed to strain my hamstring slightly.  It’s tight and sore (twss) and pulls all the way down through my calf when I try to touch my toes.  Which at the moment I also cannot do despite usually being able to go flat handed on the ground.  Sigh, life is such a PMSing bitch sometimes.  To compound that, along with sharing her wardrobe with me, my roommate Dani has also let me have some of her germs this week.  I’m popping gummy vitamins like it’s my job, hoping to keep this sore throat and cough at bay until after Sunday.

Anyway, so I didn’t run last night.  Instead I did 30 girly push-ups, drank two Corona Lights (ok officially cutting out the booze starting tonight!) and ate tacos with the roommates.  I think Tuesday dinners should always have a theme, just to keep them from sucking so much.  We’re thinking next week should be Asian.

Umm, so I’m not really sure what kind of work outs I’ll be doing the rest of the week, what with this nagging hammy pain and all.  I do plan on “racing” Sunday no matter what, I’ve had enough muscle strains, pulls, and tears in my life to know when they’re serious or not.  (Side note, one time I had a silver dollar sized hole in a muscle in my back.  It felt like a tight rubber band was constantly keeping me from bending over and would snap me back into place).  Yay for gymnastics injuries!

So who else is running Cherry Blossom this weekend?  Who’s run it before?  Any tips?  Like are there secret Porta Potties that are typically less crowded?  Will the metro realllllly get me there on time?  How crowded can I expect it to be?

Uuuuh, yeah

So it would seem most of you are in agreement upon the sexiness of Brooks Laich, although as my sister pointed out, that picture does not do his baby blues justice.  Google him, it’s worth it.  Happy hour last night was a fun success, and there were about six of us who hung out until around 8:30.  Bar nachos were consumed for dinner, and $2 Blue Moons were drank.  I made it home in time to catch Modern Family and Cougar Town, um completely didn’t realize both were new episodes last night!  Both were hysterical as always.

I’m currently sitting here wondering if I really feel like walking all the way back out to my car to retrieve my water bottle.  I’m thirsty, but I could just use a cup all day.  Sigh, decisions decisions.  Maybe I’ll just wait a few hours until I go out to the post office, then I can accomplish both things at once.  Yes, I really am that lazy.

Tonight I have a date with the gym scheduled, and then possibly taco night with the roommates if they can wait until I get home from the gym to eat that is.  I promise to make it a quick workout and be home by 7!  Either way, I’m defrosting some ground beef so I will be eating tacos for dinner.  Surprisingly this week went by pretty quickly for being the first full week after the holidays.  I’m somewhat shocked that it’s Thursday already.  I’m thinking about asking to work from home tomorrow because it’s supposed to snow overnight/in the morning and I don’t feel like dealing with the commute.  We shall see though.

I’m really trying to think of something even remotely interesting to say today, and while I do have lots of thoughts I’d like to share, I can’t really write about them at the moment.  (How’s that for cryptic and mysterious, did I suck you in?) Instead I will just drive myself crazy with my own thoughts for a while.  Alright, well I give up for today, maybe I’ll be more interesting tomorrow.

Winner, winner!

Thanks to everyone that entered my giveaway!  The winner of the $40 CSN gift card is….

Kacy at Low and Behold!  Email me your information and I’ll get the gift card out to you!  Congrats!

The bf went back to NYC last night, but before he left we had a delicious dinner of Crock Pot Chicken Tacos.  All you do is mix together a jar of salsa and taco seasoning, throw it in the pot with some chicken and let it cook for a few hours.  So easy, and so good.  Unfortunately my camera still isn’t working, so I have no pictures of it :(.  You’ll just have to take my word for it that they were delicious.

I ended up skipping yoga last night so that we could eat dinner, and still have time to get him on a somewhat early train back to the big apple.  Then I came home and vegged on the couch with a few glasses of wine watching all my favorite shows.  An episode of Glee that I had somehow never seen before, which is completely shocking, Make it or Break it, and The Rachel Zoe Project.  I’m such a dork, but I got really excited when I realized that last nights episode of Rachel Zoe was during NYC Fashion Week last February and that I was there that week.  It also happened to be during one of the many blizzards of the winter.  I am not looking forward to another NYC winter, so cold, with so much wet feet.

Well, at least it is already Wednesday right?  I’m actually headed back up to NYC to see the bf this weekend (I think this might be the shortest amount of time not seeing each other) to celebrate our 1 year anniversary.  We’re having dinner at The Park, which I think looks really neat and then who knows what else.

Sorry this post is so visually boring, hopefully I’ll have my camera up and running again soon.  If not I might be forced to break out my old one from my photojournalism class in college that I have no idea how to use anymore, and likes to eat batteries for breakfast.  Happy Wednesday!
