Workouts and Videos

Hello, hello and happy Thursday! It’s once again my favorite day of the week, and I’m currently still in my pajamas waiting for my coffee to brew.

Let’s talk workouts for the week, shall we, cuz they’ve been pretty damn good if I do say so myself.

Monday

Tuesday was very similar to the Workout of Death, but with 7 different stations this time.  As just an example, there was a TRX band station, wall sit with a barbell, squat jumps, and much more!  I was once again donezo after.

Wednesday

That was a tough one, but it felt really good to challenge myself with exercises I don’t typically do, even if I am missing some skin of the top of my knee from the deadlifts.  Today is a rest day, thankfully, because my muscles need it.  It is no coincidence that my rest days coincide with my WFH day :).

Is anyone out there as nervous as I am for the Grey’s season finale tonight?  I watched the first 6 minutes of the episode, and it’s going to be intense.  Like really intense.  You too can watch the first 6 minutes, here!  They’ve said that someone for certain dies, and I really don’t want any of them to go.  Waaaaah.

Before I leave you, I must suggest you go watch this, because it had me smiling like a fool and tapping my foot on Tuesday night (and right now if I’m being completely honest).  Tootleoo!

Probably Gonna Turn into the Hulk

So, the inspection?  Kinda no big deal this time around!  The only major things that need fixing are a Radon system needs to be installed, and the fans from each of the bathrooms need to be vented through the roof in the attic.  They currently just stop there.  Other than that it’s just minor repairs that come with a 34 year-old house.  Score one for us!  Finally.  Soooo, we close on June 11, but we’re hoping to get the bank on board with a little bit earlier of a closing since the house is vacant.  We’ll see!

In accordance with my workout plan, yesterday I did my 30-40 minutes of cardio in the form of a lunch time spin class.  44 minutes and 17.2 miles later, I had melted into the ground and could barely pull myself off the bike.  At one point my bike was on resistance 20, that’s as high as they go.  I’m not even sure I was actually pedaling.  It was tough, but awesome.

Like I mentioned yesterday, there are also some nutritional guidelines that go along with this training plan, and I thought I’d go into that a little bit today.  Taking into consideration my current stats, the trainer is recommending I eat 1975 cals a day, including 198g each of carbs and protein, and 44g of fat.  I am finding it nearly impossible to consume that much protein, I hit 121 g on Monday and 105 g yesterday.  I’m also struggling to hit my calorie count, which I actually found surprising.  So here’s what two days of eats look like while trying to stay low-fat, high protein.  Surprisingly I’ve managed to stay below my 44g of fat allowance.

Yesterday I felt like I was eating all day long, and even when dinner time rolled around wasn’t that hungry and sort of just made myself eat.  It’s not so bad really, because I kind of enjoy eating constantly and never being so hungry I want to murder someone.  We’ll see how this works out for me in the next few weeks.  Speaking of dinner though, I had some technical issues last night.  I really wanted to grill my chicken an peppers, but after going through every single match I could find in the house, still couldn’t get the charcoal grill lit.  This happened instead:

Sigh, I fail.  Oh well, my kebabs tasted just as delicious this way, and because I still had some calories left I ate ice cream and drank wine for dessert.  Yup.

These are a Few of My Fav Things

So I ended up taking the 5 pm cycle and strength class last night, and boy oh boy did I have my ass handed to me. As you can probably guess, the class was split with the first half being cycle and the second half a boot-camp style strength class.  The cycle part was good, lots of hill climbs, and then we moved into the group fitness room for more.  Seeing as my entire back and hamstrings were sore from yoga on Monday night, I was not fully prepared for the next 25 minutes but it was great.

We started with walking lunges, then did walking double lunges, then chest press, flies, a million push-ups, squats of all kinds, and abs. For the push-ups, we would do one narrow, one wide, etc for the set, then one in front of a step, one with our hands on the step, climb over the step and do one with your feet on the step.  I thought I was going to fall on my face.  I was spent by the end, and breathing heavy, again probably partly to do with the fact my lungs are still not fully functioning but whatevs. I’ll probably take it again, it was kind of fun.

Lastly, the 80 degree weather today allowing me to dress like an Easter egg.  I have every intention of taking my computer outside to do some work later this afternoon.  Hooray for laptops and wireless that travels! Happy Wednesday!
