Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween y’all!  We’re having a Halloween Party at work today, so I’m currently dressed as a “United States of America Olympic Team” member.  That means I’m wearing black yoga pants, Uggs, a race medal, and a t-shirt that says as much.  So festive, haha, but also the most comfortable thing to sit in on a Monday.

My weekend was just as boring and uneventful as I predicted it would be.  Thanks to the freak October snow storm my sister decided not to make the trip down from PA, so the only person I talked to all weekend was my cat, and she is not a person.  I did manage to spend a shit ton of money at Target, Whole Foods, and Trader Joe’s though, so that was fun.  I also ate about half of the Halloween candy I bought, whoops.

We didn’t get much snow at all in Arlington, just enough to cause a mess and be a nuisance, but it did look pretty when it was falling heavily.  It started out as nasty freezing rain, and I’ll take snow over that any day.

It was all gone by later in the evening, so our streets and sidewalks are clear for trick or treaters tonight.  I’m actually really excited to see the little kids all dressed up.  We hardly had any kids come to my old house, and I’m one of those idiots who can’t imagine anything cuter than babies dressed as animals.  Sorry, but I have baby fever and I want to steal them all.  Uh, my boyfriend kind of does too, good thing we are far, far away from each other.  So yeah, I will be gushing over cuteness tonight while handing out candy.

Happy Halloween!

I’ve Got It! Kinda

So, when looking at tomorrow’s forecast, I’m not really sure whether to laugh or cry.  Snow? In October?  Seriously?  I once got a sunburn on Halloween while sitting out at a football game because it was in the 80s.  It will be interesting to see what actually happens, but if it is snowing tomorrow my availability for football will probably change.  Sorry team.

I actually came up with a Halloween costume idea, but it involves my significant other, so I’m calling dibs on it for some Halloween in the future.  Even though he did tell me it was “pretty gay hun,” he doesn’t know what he’s talking about.

Jax and Tara from Sons of Anarchy!  Yeah, I’m kind of obsessed with them, and the show.  I think we could totally pull it off, boyfriend’s facial hair is blond when he grows it in, and if he had a hat on no one would know he was bald.  He just needs a few more tattoos, which lucky for us he intends on getting.  I have long brown hair and an ass, so I’ve pretty much got Tara covered.  I’ll give Darren a few years to adjust to the idea.

Last night’s workout was an hour of weights, and I must have gone lower in my split squats because man are my legs sore today.  I really love a good weight session so much more than cardio these days.  Although, driving through Rosslyn this morning and seeing everything set up for the Marine Corps Marathon did make me want to sign up for another race.  Maybe in the spring.

Happy Friday friends, take pics of yourselves dressed up this weekend so I can live vicariously through you!  I’m hoping my sis decides to come hang out with me this weekend, and we can have a scary movie marathon on Saturday, while it’s snowing.  Later!

Gotta Love the South

I fell asleep last night to the sound of sleet pelting my bedroom windows, so obviously the first thing I did when I woke up at 6:30 this morning was call my works emergency weather hotline.  After hearing “operating on a two-hour delayed opening” I turned off my alarm, rolled over, and went back to sleep.  I’m not sure that delay was completely necessary, but hey I’m not complaining.

Last night I immersed myself in the world of Lifetime, and watched the Amanda Knox movie.  It’s definitely and interesting story, and I’m not sure whether I think she did it or not, but she sure did seem to handle the situation strangely.  I guess we’ll see what happens in her upcoming appeal process.  Anyway, definitely much better than the job they did with The Craigslist Killer.

On my way into work this morning, I heard the exciting news that today is National Margarita Day!  I immediately sent out this text message:

Me: It’s national margarita day, we should celebrate
Dani: Margs and glee tonight?
Me: I like it

Tequila is my nemesis, or best friend, depending on how you view the situation, but I do love it so.  There was a period of time two summers ago where I did multiple shots of Patron every night I went out.  That was fun.  I should start doing that again :).  So happy National Margarita Day! Will you be celebrating?

I ❤ Patron (excuse my hair sticking up)

I do plan on going to the gym after work and getting my tempo run in before margs and Glee take place.  Last weeks training kind of took a big hit, so it’s time to get back on track.  I’m not really concerned about missing my 7 mile long run, I finished my 6 mile one so strongly that I know I can do 7 no problem.  So I’m just going to chalk it up as a loss and move on with my training plan as scheduled.

Can I just say how much I love that this is the last week of February and the first few days of March are in the 10 day forecast?  I am definitely ready for spring, and my trip in 16 days, although I doubt it will feel like spring in Chicago.  Oh well.  Have a good one!
