Someone’s Excited

Things my boyfriend said to me last night:

Him: “Can we get late night pizza Sat?”
Me: “haha sure”

Him: “Can we pretend we just met at the bar and have a drunken one night stand?”
Me: “hahaha sure”

Him: “Epiiiiiic. I’m gonna defriend you tonight so I can send you and awkward friend request Sunday.”
Me: “Lame”

Haha, someone is a little excited to pretend like he’s in college on Saturday.  I think my sister is a little happy about it also.

I’m pretty excited myself, I just hope I can remember that I can’t party like a 21 year-old anymore without feeling extremely sick the next day.  Hopefully I can control myself.  Oh, and go Dukes!

Last night I hit the treadmill for a speed workout, 3 x 1 mile repeats at 8:20 pace.  8:20 pace is definitely a tad faster than is comfortable for me, so it felt good to push myself for those three miles.  Here’s how it looked.

  • 1 mile warm-up 10 min/mile
  • 1 mile 8:20 pace
  • .25 walk 4.4 mph
  • 1 mile @8:20 pace
  • .25 walk 4.4 mph
  • 1 mile @8:20 pace
  • .25 walk 4.4 mph
  • 4.75 miles total

I ran into my friend Chris as I was leaving the gym, and invited him over to watch the Phillies game later.  Chris is actually my oldest friend in the area. We met in the 4th grade, although we didn’t really become friends until I lost the  glasses and braces in 8th grade and was cool enough to talk to :).  He was my first serious boyfriend in high school, and we dated for about a year and a half.

This is us in June 2000, probably about two months after we started dating, I’m 14 and he’s 15.

Then this is us last summer celebrating Chris’s 25th birthday.  So even at 24 and 25, I think we look exactly the same as we did at 14 and 15, haha.  It was fun to have someone to watch the Phillies with, and I wore my Brad Lidge shirt which I’m pretty sure helped them win ;).  Also, Chris wants to run the Philadelphia Marathon next month, but forgot to sign up and now it’s sold out.  He’s been raising money for Alzheimer’s awareness for the race, so if anyone knows of someone looking to unload a bib, please let me know!

It’s Friday, hooray! I don’t plan on doing anything at all tonight except sitting on my butt resting for tomorrow mornings 10 mile run and day of drinking at Villanova.  I can’t believe yesterday marked the 1 month count down until the half marathon, it’s going to be here before I know it!  Anyone else up to anything good this weekend?! Happy Friday!

I’m Back!

Was I missed yesterday? I hope so! Well I’m back today, and going to be super mysterious and not talk at all about what I was doing on my day off yesterday ;). Sorrrry, haha.  I will tell you all about the nail that ended up in my tire though.  Actually, that’s pretty much all there is to say about that also.

I was driving, the scariest warning light ever showed up on my dashboard, I BBMed boyfriend asking him to look up what it meant, and discovered I had some low tire pressure.  Pull off at a rest stop, got the tire pressure checked, and discovered a nail right in the middle of the front right tire.  Fantastic.  I’ll take one I-95 nail special to go please.  I got it plugged, but my warning light is still on.  I’m hoping it just needs to be reset and that I don’t have to buy a new tire, because they’re a freaking expensive.

So the Yankees finally remembered how to play baseball last night, and now we only need to win two games in a row to make it to the World Series.

The Phillies are actually in the same boat right now, despite ALL the sports radio broadcasts leading up to this series declaring them unbeatable, and pretty much just jumping right into talk about a World Series match up.  Karma, it’s a bitch isn’t it?  Maybe next time you won’t jump the gun, because shit happens and pitchers are beatable.  Especially when your teams offense has been asleep since the start of the playoffs.  Anyway, go Yankees!  And alright, go Phillies, because I really have nothing against them unless they are playing the Yanks.  I just HATEEEEEEE listening to the sports radio broadcasts.

One last thing, check out my adorable new house!

My future roommates and I found out that we got it on Tuesday, and I am so unbelievably excited.  More photos and location disclosure after I actually move in!  Eeeeek, sorry it just still makes me so happy to see it.  We already have plans to make use of that front porch, sitting on it with our drinks, and maybe in some rocking chairs.  Or a hammock, or bench swing, the possibilities are endless!

Thursday already, huh?  It actually kind of feels like a Monday since I was off yesterday.  Anyway, one more day until the weekend!  Boyfriend and I are heading out to Villanova on Saturday to play with my sister and watch our college, JMU, take on Villanova in football.  Should be a fun weekend!

Blogger Date!

The rest of the day at work yesterday just went on and on, I couldn’t wait to get out of there when 3:30 rolled around.  I took care of some of the weekend errands I had to run during my lunch break, picked up a six-pack of Jack’s Pumpkin Spice Ale and a bottle of Raspberry Vodka, so I just had to stop at the grocery store on my way home.  I got Alex and I turkey for sandwiches, eggs and cheese for breakfast, and the things I need to make chicken marsala for dinner tonight.  Then I came home to get ready for my meet-up with Hope.

We met at the bar at 6:30 and had a blast!  One of the things I love the most about meeting other bloggers is that you feel like you already know so much about them, so it’s never awkward.  Hope is just as sweet and pretty in real life as she seems on her blog, and we realized we had a lot in common.  We talked and enjoyed some drinks, but unfortunately I had to cut our date early because boyfriend was getting into the Trenton train station at 8.  I probably could have sat there for hours more chatting with Hope.  Can’t wait to hang out again girl!

I hightailed it to the train station where Alex was patiently waiting for me, and people watching in Trenton, which is highly amusing.  Neither one of us wanted to go out to eat, so we just picked up a frozen pizza and came home and broke open the Pumpkin beers.  I planned to save them for today, but Alex assured me would could get more.  We watched the end of the Phillies game, who pulled off an amazing come from behind win, and about half of an episode of Boardwalk Empire before both of us were starting to doze off on the couch.  Yup, we went to bed at 10:30 on a Friday night.  At least that means I’m well rested and up bright and early for my 9 mile training run.

I’m currently snacking on a Chocolate Chip CLIF bar and drinking some water before I head out to tackle the 9 miles ahead of me.  I just got rid of the chafe marks from last week, so I will definitely make use of my Body Glide today.  Plans for today are still up in the air, we might go to one of the wineries around here or pick some pumpkins and carve them.  Obviously I’m rooting for the pumpkin picking, but I think boyfriend would rather go to a winery.  We shall see.  Ok I’m off to stretch and finish getting ready for this run.  Happy Saturday everyone, it’s going to be a gorgeous one!
