Weird

I feel the need to rub it in that today is my last day in the office until Tuesday :).  I’m working from home tomorrow, and then off on Friday and Monday for Megh’s wedding/MDW.  I’m quite excited, as you can probably imagine.  Other really exciting things?  You can watch HBO movies and shows online if you log in with your cable provider.  Yup.  Now showing?  Green Lantern.  Hello Ryan Reynolds, I ❤ you.

mmmhmmm

My Aunt is in town from New Jersey on a business trip this week, so last night I trekked into DC to meet her for dinner.  Her hotel is in Dupont, so to keep it simple we met at James Hoban’s Irish Pub right off the Circle.  I’d never been before, but was always curious, and I really enjoyed it.  We ordered the crab dip appetizer, which was delicioussss and then I had the Shepherd’s Pie as my main course.  It was a lovely dinner, but DC adventures on a weeknight always wear me out, so today I’m slightly more sleepy than usual.

So, funny story.  I’m pretty sure Darren got “B” listed for a friend of his wedding in August.  Ya know, he got put on the list of people who get invited if enough “A” listed ones RSVP “no”.  He was telling me he got an email talking about the bachelor party in July (the same weekend as my birthday trip to the beach that he told me months ago he would be waaaaaaaaay to busy to travel for, but that’s a story for another day) and I found it weird he hadn’t gotten at least a save the date for the wedding.  He of course, being a man, didn’t find it weird at all that he hadn’t gotten any notice about a wedding that’s happening in August.  After lots of my nagging yesterday he finally called one of the other guys on the bach party email list, and asked what the deal with the wedding is.  Apparently they sent save the dates out, but not to everyone, and invitations haven’t gone out yet.  Weird right?  I just thought it was funny that none of this had crossed his mind.

Now, the real question of the day.  I forgot my lunch at home, so should I eat lame cafeteria food or go across the street and get something delicious?

Rest Week

Well, I lifted legs yesterday and have unfortunately decided I need to take a few more days off from working out to let my back fully recover.  I’m still having a really hard time raising my elbow higher than shoulder height without it pulling, so I don’t want to risk irritating it even more. Lame.  I really wish I could feel ok about not working out, but it terrifies me.  Darren says to eat less to counteract the no workouts, but um I already feel like I’m not eating much and I like food.  So no to that idea.  Hopefully by next week I’ll be fully recovered, and then I can just jump into week 1 of Phase 2.

I watched a lot of movies over the weekend, once of which I had never head of before, but it had my lova (Ryan Gossling) in it so I gave it a chance.

Normally Kirsten Dunst bothers me, but not so much in this movie, I really liked it.  As you can see there, it was a “Spellbinding True Crime Story”.  That’s true, it was quite suspenseful and full of intrigue.  It’s on Netflix Instant Queue so I totally recommend it for a lazy weekend day or movie night.

Tonight, the roommates and I are reinstating a tradition that used to go on at least once a week and going out to dinner; just the three of us.  It’s been quite a while since we’ve done anything together, so we decided it was about time.  Other exciting news is that my sister is coming to visit this weekend!  She has requested crock pot meals and exploring DC, so we’ll see what I can figure out.

Well, I just noticed that it’s 63 degrees outside, so I think I’m going to put my sneakers on and go for a walk.  There’s a nice little bike trail that circles my work complex.  Happy Tuesday!

Just Checking In

Not really much to say here today, but go check out my guest post over at What Kelly Said, for my thoughts on how blogging is like high school.

Yesterday was pretty lazy, although I did finally make those Pumpkin Chocolate Chip cookies that I’d been meaning to make all weekend.  They’re my favorite, and I may have a zip lock bag of them sitting next to me on my desk.  I do.  I mostly just watched a lot of football, and am keeping my fingers crossed that my fantasy team pulls off the win tonight.  Ya know, since the Eagles sucked ass yesterday.  I’m currently winning by four points, and we each have one player left to go tonight.  It’s going to be a close one!

After the football games we cared about ended yesterday, the roommates and I settled in to watch the latest arrival from Netflix, Never Say Never.  Yes, that’s the Justin Bieber movie, haha.  What a cute little kid, and so talented.  Anyway, it wasn’t horrible.  It showed how he got discovered by Usher and that kinda crap, and followed him around leading up to his MSG concert.  He’s a cutie, and the songs are catchy.  Whatevs.

So yeah, that’s really all I’ve got for you today.  I’m anxiously awaiting the first day of October on Saturday, and the 10 degree temperature drop that is supposedly coming with it.  I have new cool weather clothes I want to wear!  Alright, catch ya later.
