September, is that you?  Aren’t cool 70 degree temps and breezes supposed to accompany you?  What is this 97 degree nonsense?  Also, if you could please keep Hurricane Earl away from my friend’s wedding on Friday, that would be great.  Kthxbye.

I kicked September off with a bang and stopped at Starbucks this morning for a Pumpkin Spice Latte.  Funny though, I ordered a non-fat and the barista asked if I wanted whipped cream.  Wouldn’t that pretty much defeat the purpose of ordering non-fat milk?  Thank you for asking, but no I would not like whipped cream.  With the first sip of pumpkiny delight, I was whisked back to memories of football tailgates, pumpkin picking, beerfests, Uggs, and sweaters.  It was fantastic.

Pumpkin Spice

Last night, I finally got back into my routine and hit the gym for a run.  Since I’ll be traveling again right from work tomorrow, I really needed to get a run in last night and another one tonight.  I did 5 miles at a 9:05 pace and felt relatively comfortable during it.  Well, that’s not completely true I hit mile 3 and realized I had to pee, so I quickly darted to the bathroom and knocked out the last 2.  Also, thanks for all the positive feedback about the 5k I signed up for.  You all really boosted my confidence!

Dinner last night was probably one of the most random things you will ever see me eat.  Just about the only things in my fridge were a zucchini and corn, so I made a veggie wrap with some humus and mac and cheese.

The wrap was good, but I actually would have enjoyed it more without the humus.  And well, the mac and cheese speaks for itself.  That’s always delicious.  I wrapped my night up with the season finale of Make it or Break it and The Rachel Zoe Project.  A pretty good Tuesday if I say so myself.

Tonight will involve another run and packing for my long weekend in DC.  I’m still trying to decide what to wear.  I originally planned to wear the same dress I wore to the wedding last weekend, but after it left cuts on my rib cage and me looking like a pregnant lady in some pictures I’m rethinking it.  Sigh.  Not that I have anything else to wear, so I’ll probably end up wearing it.

All Signed Up!

Wowzers sorry I’m posting so late today, but my morning at work has been spent moving from one office to another, and I’m just getting my computer back now!  Anyway, so happy Wednesday, we’re officially half way through the week, I’m leaving for vacation in 2 days and the only thing I’ve packed so far is bathing suits.  I should probably get on that huh?  The boyfriend arrives tomorrow, so I definitely need to get a majority of the packing done tonight.

Last nights workout was pretty standard, Yoga Meltdown.  I’m finally mastering the rolling t’s and side plank, which to me is almost as hard as the chatarunga push-ups because they hurt my wrists.  I blame all my years of gymnastics on this.  What wasn’t standard, was this:

Yup, I am now officially registered for the Philadelphia Half Marathon on November 21.  I’m already nervous.  I’ll probably start working on a plan in the next few weeks, and then training will officially start at the end of August.  I wanted to do the Philly Rock and Roll half, but one of my bff’s is getting married that weekend and I don’t think that is really a logical idea.

Because we are in the process of clearing out the fridge and freezer before vacation, dinner was a little random.  Some Kraft Mac and Cheese, and half a turkey and bacon wrap.

Look at that cheezy goodness.  I thought I had a slight dilemma on my hands when I realized there was no milk, but I just substituted the 1/4 of milk for a 1/4 of water and there was absolutely no difference.  Still creamy, cheezy, and delicious!

Out of pure boredom last night, I watched Yes Man with Jim Carrey and actually really enjoyed it.  The few glasses of wine I drank while watching may have helped that, but it was still a cute and funny movie.  If you’re in the mood for a silly Jim Carrey flick, I recommend this one.

Alright well I hope everyone has a great day, I plan on taking advantage of the much cooler temps today and going for a run outside after work.  It was so glorious out this morning, I wish I could have run then, but responsibility and 7 am start times call.

Hamburger Helper

I was stalking UPS tracking all day yesterday watching my shipping status update and hoping my purchases from Victoria’s Secret would be on my doorstep when I got home from work.  They were not.  I sadly trudged up the stairs to pull on my swimsuit and headed out to the gym.

The pool last night was the most crowded I have ever seen it.  Usually for at least some length of my swim I am the only person in the pool, but last night every lane had someone in it at all times.  Luckily for me I managed to grab one while it was empty and didn’t have to share, I hate sharing.  I did my usual workout and felt pretty good.  During my warm-up my arms and legs felt heavy, but that went away by the time I started my sets.  After my pool work-out, which took about 35-40 minutes, I walked on the treadmill at an incline for 15 minutes.  I was going to do 25, but my hip started to feel funny so I cut the time short.  Then the necessary stretches and ab work.

When I walked up to my front door after the gym, there was a large box sitting on my front stoop.  I may have let out a little squeal of glee :).  Speaking of Glee, it came back last night, wooo!  Anyway, I immediately ripped open the box and tried on my new digs.

Horrible Crackberry pic, but I sent it to the bf also.  It occurred to me only after looking at everything that I ordered the two tube tops in JMU colors, haha do we think I loved my college?  I also got a pair of Havaianas flip-flops and a dress.  I love getting things in the mail, so exciting!

Dinner was a homemade Hamburger Helper.  I used a box of Trader Joe’s organic white cheddar mac and cheese, and the last of my leftover hamburgers from last week.  Funny thing though, we were out of regular milk so I used 3 tbsp of Vanilla Soy Milk, interesting.  The mac and cheese definitely had a vanilla taste to it, still good though.

Yum.  While the TJ’s mac and cheese isn’t as cheesy as the Kraft 3 cheese, I still think it’s just as tasty.  Then for dessert I had a Skinny Cow Chocolate Truffle Bar.

I love these things, they are so good.  I enjoyed my dessert while watching last nights episode of LOST.  Which is getting crazy, btw.  I definitely let out a holy shit last night while watching at one point.  Still loving it though, the previews for next week featured that crazy ass song from Willy Wonka and totally creeped me out, weird.

So I think the boyfriend is coming tomorrow, although I’m not quite sure because he hasn’t told me whether it will be Thursday or Friday.  Also, I think he may have finally decided on a law school so we may be celebrating that this weekend.  Happy Wednesday everyone!
