A general theme

As far as Monday’s go, yesterday was pretty typical.  I had physical therapy from 6-8 last night, which was exhausting as usual.  I told my PT guy that after my run on Saturday morning my knee was feeling awful all day, and that walking up the stairs was painful, so we did the ultrasound treatment again last night.  He also recommended that maybe I should schedule another doctors appointment, and maybe get some Cortisone shots.  So we’ll see about that.

I was pretty negative going into last nights appointment, and didn’t really expect to run for more than a few minutes without pain, but I did 15 and only felt the beginning twinges the last 10 seconds or so.  The one thing I’m hating about PT, is how it has the ability to dictate my mood.  A good session and I’m usually pretty happy and excited, but after a bad one I’m so depressed and feel like I’m never going to get better and that I’m not healing at all.  Very frustrating.  Yesterday was the beginning of week 7 of treatments, and there is still no end in sight :(.

There was a general theme to my meals yesterday, so I took pictures of both lunch and dinner.

A leftover piece of grilled chicken, marinated in Italian dressing, with lettuce on a whole wheat wrap.

Yummy green bean casserole

And cheesy potato casserole.  All leftover from Sunday’s Mother’s Day BBQ.  By the time I showered after PT, it was almost 8:30 and I was hungry.  Cooking wasn’t going to happen, so dinner was more leftovers, haha.

This piece of chicken was marinated in BBQ sauce, and there was an addition of pasta salad for dinner.  My mom ate the same thing, so I think that about takes care of the leftovers.  Now I don’t know what I’ll eat for the rest of the week, but I’m sure I’ll figure something out.

I loved Dancing With the Stars last night, everyone did so good!  I especially loved Nichole and Derek’s 50’s Paso, they are so good.  It’s getting to the point now where I’m going to be sad to see anyone go.  I think it should be either Niecy or Chad, but for some reason my girl EA was in the bottom two last week.  So who knows what will happen.

The boyfriend is supposedly coming to visit this weekend, but I won’t believe it until he is actually in my house.  Especially since he is currently in Virginia with no travel plans scheduled yet.  So uh yeah, we’ll see about that.  And because this picture cracks me up, I’m leaving ya’ll with that today.

Look how much children love me, haha.  I maintain that he was just trying to get down to crawl after the cat, and really didn’t hate being in my arms that much, but whatevs.

Happy Tuesday!! Who’s excited for LOST tonight????!!!

3 years ago today

I was sitting with the rest of the class of 2007, well those of us that drug ourselves out of bed despite our hangovers, waiting for graduation to start.  All I remember is staring at my friend Megan’s Gatorade with intense jealousy, and texting my sister to please find me a blue Power Aid from a vending machine before Commencement for each separate college started.  Thankfully she did, and I made it through without throwing up on myself.  In honor of the Class of 2007s three year graduation anniversary, here are some of my favorite pics of that weekend.

My smarty pants roomies who each got BS degrees, I’m terrible at Math and Science so suffered through a language and got a BA.

Alright, on to more current issues.  I was so close to skipping my workout last night, but when I got home our cleaning lady was waiting to be let inside.  There is nothing I hate more than sitting in the house while she is there, so off to the pool I went.  The pool was so crowded yesterday!  It was the first time I had to wait for a lane to open up since I started swimming.  Luckily I only waited about 15 minutes or so.  Same swim as Monday, just a little more difficult since I was sore.

For the past two weeks or so, I’ve been craving a real slice of pizza and last night I finally indulged.  My mom was going to be home late, we really didn’t have anything to cook, so I ordered a medium plain pizza.  It was soooo good.  I love my homemade flat-bread pizzas, but there is something about a hot, cheezy slice that can’t be beat.

Oh how I love pizza.  With a side of Ranch for crust dipping, of course.  I had a bit of a mental breakdown last night, but thankfully Jess was able to talk me through it on Twitter.  Thanks again for listening, and for the advice!  So amazing how people who you’ve never met in real life can be so supportive and such great friends.  For a dose of daily “awwww how cute”, look what was hanging out by my Starbucks this morning.

Look at the cute little babies!! The mom was totally hissing at me while I was taking pictures, I guess I was a little too close, but that babies are adorable!  I don’t know why they hang out in parking lots though, makes me nervous :(.

Both LOST and Glee were delightful last night, I will officially be singing Total Eclipse of the Heart all day, and probably replaying the video a few times.  LOST was pretty shocking, and a little sad, but I can’t wait to see where it goes from here.  Love it!

Happy Wednesday folks, ugh I can’t believe it’s been three yearssssss.

Philly Foodie Meet-up!

Let me just say, Philadelphia is pretty lucky to have such an amazing looking group of food bloggers.  Everyone last night was even prettier in person than they look on their blog, and just as nice.  Thanks again to Sabrina and Leslie for organizing it!  I rushed home from work and squeezed in a quick 30 min workout with my Yogalosophy DVD before I had to start getting ready.

I felt like I was getting ready for a date, haha, I showered, shaved my legs, straightened my hair, um don’t tell my bf that I’m pretty sure I haven’t done those things for his visits in a while.  Oh wait he reads this doesn’t he… oh well.  My drive into the city was relatively painless and traffic free, which was surprising since the Flyers were playing a home playoff game last night, but hey whatever, worked for me.

The dinner was held at Garces Trading Comapny, located at 1111 Locust St.

One side of the menu features a selection of various cheese and accompanying garnishes, and the other ala cart items to order as your main course.

I think we all took over 30 minutes to look at the menu and decide what to order, haha.  First things first though, a few glasses of delicious red wine.

Here’s one of the tables of pretty girls.  From left to right, April and Stephanie, Melissa and Dasha, Leslie and Sabrina, Lisa and Me, and Emily at the end.  I wish I could have had the opportunity to talk to the other table more, next time!  After we ordered, some delicious bread and olive oil were delivered to our table.

Sabrina ordered these delicious baby asparagus bites, and I managed to snag one.  Normally I don’t like artichokes unless they are also accompanied by spinach and cheese and in dip form, but these were good.

For my meal, I ordered the Margarita Pizza, and it was amazing.  I typically like a thinner crust, and this was almost like my flat-bread pizza that I make at home!

Um, I ate every bite, haha.  It was that good.  Sadly, after dinner I realized it was almost 10 pm, and I still had a 30 min drive back to suburbia ahead of me, and had to leave :(.  I’m pretty sure we all could have sat and talked for hours more!

Group shot photo stolen from Leslie, thanks!  It’s Stephanie, Me, Melissa, Leslie, Lisa, Dasha, Heather, Sabrina, and April.

Such a fun night, and I even missed Lost for these ladies, so you know it was important!  I did however, just catch up on last nights Glee and LOVED the Madonna episode.  I kind of want to watch again, but I’m afraid I might get up and start dancing like a fool in my office.  That is not appropriate for 9 am.

Happy Wednesday everyone, we’re halfway through the week!
