Oh, so it’s Friday the 13th

First things first, how beautiful did my sister (blondie) look at her senior dinner dance this past weekend?  Brit you looked gorge too!  Not going to lie, I’m jealous of her teeny tiny waist and bootay :).  I wonder if I could borrow that dress…

I can’t wait to celebrate her graduation all weekend at Villanova, I just hope the weather cooperates.  I seriously feel like it was just yesterday when she was at my JMU graduation and I was at her high school grad.  Time goes by too fast, waaaaaaaaaaaaah.

Last night at the gym I did 35 minutes on the elliptical followed by the same core workout from last week.  It takes about 30-35 minutes to get through the three sets of all the exercises, for those who asked last week.  I like the workout, it makes me pay attention to areas of my core that I usually neglect, like the lower back.

So after a beautiful Mon-Thurs this week, storm clouds rolled in this morning and are expected to stick around for the next six days or so.  Typical.  Especially since I have to get in the car and drive this afternoon, because rain never makes traffic better.  Ugh, I might spend all day researching ways besides 95 to get to Philadelphia.

I broke out the white jeans today for the first time this season, there was a moment of apprehension when it came time to pull up the zipper.  They fit, but not as loosely as last year.  You win some, you lose some.  I also just put a piece of tape across the  bottom of my shoe to hold the sole together, I will not give up my favorite pair of Coach wedges, ever.  Staples might be the next thing used to keep them together.

Alright well I’m off, someone was mean enough to schedule a 9:15 meeting.  I haven’t even finished my coffee yet, so it should be interesting.  What are you all up to this weekend?  Oh yeah, and Happy Friday the 13th!

Family Tales

So I’m heading home this weekend for my sister’s college graduation, and naturally my mother is driving me crazy (sorry mom but it’s true).  She sent me an email last week with a schedule of the graduation events, times, ceremonies, etc.  After looking at it and seeing there wasn’t anything until 4:30 on Saturday, I wrote back saying it might be easier for me to just come home on Saturday morning.  Then she tells me there is something at 9:30 Saturday morning, ok fine, but if you’re going to send me an email itinerary can’t we include all the details?

Relatively soon after that, it might have even been the same day, I talked to my sister and told her I’d be there on Friday night and was staying at her apartment with her all weekend.  Yesterday morning my sister and I again had that same conversation, and I told her I’d hopefully be there by 8 pm on Friday night.  We also discussed clothing options, but that’s not really part of the story.

Yesterday afternoon I got a text message from my mom asking me what my final plans were for the weekend because neither her nor my sister knew what I was doing.  Really, that’s funny, because I’m almost positive I had a conversation with Col earlier about my exact plans.  Sigh, family, gotta love em, and also want to strangle them at the same time :).  Good news is my sister’s grad present is arriving today, much earlier than expected!

Anyway, like I mentioned yesterday, after work a bunch of us met up at Arlington Rooftop Bar and Grill for happy hour.  It was an absolutely gorgeous night to sit outside enjoying cocktails with friends.

A few people ordered food, and I have to say it all looked amazing, ok I did steal some fries from people and they were amazing.  Adrienne and I also split some calamari which was delicious.  This was our first time there, and I think we’ll definitely go back soon.  I made it home by 9 pm and was sound asleep by 10:30, that’s a perfect weekday happy hour to me :).

And lastly, if you read nothing else today, read this, because YES!

3 years ago today

I was sitting with the rest of the class of 2007, well those of us that drug ourselves out of bed despite our hangovers, waiting for graduation to start.  All I remember is staring at my friend Megan’s Gatorade with intense jealousy, and texting my sister to please find me a blue Power Aid from a vending machine before Commencement for each separate college started.  Thankfully she did, and I made it through without throwing up on myself.  In honor of the Class of 2007s three year graduation anniversary, here are some of my favorite pics of that weekend.

My smarty pants roomies who each got BS degrees, I’m terrible at Math and Science so suffered through a language and got a BA.

Alright, on to more current issues.  I was so close to skipping my workout last night, but when I got home our cleaning lady was waiting to be let inside.  There is nothing I hate more than sitting in the house while she is there, so off to the pool I went.  The pool was so crowded yesterday!  It was the first time I had to wait for a lane to open up since I started swimming.  Luckily I only waited about 15 minutes or so.  Same swim as Monday, just a little more difficult since I was sore.

For the past two weeks or so, I’ve been craving a real slice of pizza and last night I finally indulged.  My mom was going to be home late, we really didn’t have anything to cook, so I ordered a medium plain pizza.  It was soooo good.  I love my homemade flat-bread pizzas, but there is something about a hot, cheezy slice that can’t be beat.

Oh how I love pizza.  With a side of Ranch for crust dipping, of course.  I had a bit of a mental breakdown last night, but thankfully Jess was able to talk me through it on Twitter.  Thanks again for listening, and for the advice!  So amazing how people who you’ve never met in real life can be so supportive and such great friends.  For a dose of daily “awwww how cute”, look what was hanging out by my Starbucks this morning.

Look at the cute little babies!! The mom was totally hissing at me while I was taking pictures, I guess I was a little too close, but that babies are adorable!  I don’t know why they hang out in parking lots though, makes me nervous :(.

Both LOST and Glee were delightful last night, I will officially be singing Total Eclipse of the Heart all day, and probably replaying the video a few times.  LOST was pretty shocking, and a little sad, but I can’t wait to see where it goes from here.  Love it!

Happy Wednesday folks, ugh I can’t believe it’s been three yearssssss.
