Have Mercy!

I don’t know if it was good karma, or good luck, but yesterday shortly after I posted my Winter Wish List and wanting a pair of lululemon running tights, I found out I won a $50 gift card to lululemon as well as some other sweet stuff from a giveaway Jess was doing!  Umm excited was an understatement when she told me I won.  I seriously never win ANYTHING, so winning something I really, really wanted is amaaaaazing :).  Someone’s going shopping!

I hit the gym after work with my fingers crossed, and hoping that my knee wouldn’t start hurting 5 minutes into my run.  I actually whispered out loud, “please don’t hurt during this.”  There were a few times I thought I felt some pain, but I think I was imagining it and I finished my 3 mile easy run in 30 minutes.  I stretched for a while before and after and then went home.  I’m supposed to do a 6 mile tempo run tonight, so hopefully the knee holds up for that as well.

Last night was the Rocky Horror episode of Glee, and I’m somewhat embarrassed to admit that I’ve never seen the real Rocky Horror.  So I didn’t know the songs, but I still enjoyed the episode mostly because something happened that I was waiting for since John Stamos appeared as a regular guest star.  He sang!  Ever since his days as Jesse of “Jesse and the Rippers” on Full House I’ve sort of been in love with John Stamos.  Remember when he sang this song on his wedding day during a Full House episode?

Pretty sure I had it downloaded and burned onto a CD at one point in life.  Ah the 90s, gotta love it.  Anyway, he was just as good last night on Glee.  Also, I think I need to watch the real Rocky Horror, perhaps this Friday while I’m resting up for my 11 mile run on Saturday morning.

Alex and I are going to my friend Michelle’s house on Saturday night for a Halloween party, and I think it’s kind of special because it was after this same party last year that he told me he loved me for the first time.  Aww so cute you could vomit, I know.  Our costumes this year were actually his idea, but I think they’re pretty good can’t wait to post pictures after the weekend.  Here we are last year.

That beard shed all over everything, and didn’t really last for much of the night.  I think it may have actually caught on fire at one point too, haha.  This year my costume cost me about $40 less than last year, so that’s a plus for me. Anyone have any good costumes this year?  What are you all being, or is it a surprise?

Getting Lazy

Last night as I was stretching at the gym, I could no longer avoid the unfortunate truth that was staring me in the face.  I really, really needed to shave my legs.  Shorts weather is over (well except running shorts), and I didn’t see Alex over the weekend so apparently I was very lazy last week and neglected to pick up a razor.  Kind of reminded me of high school when I would only shave the area of my leg that was exposed between where my knee socks ended and skirt started.  Hey I went to an all girls school, what the hell did I care, haha.  Anyway, definitely took care of that situation in the shower and I might even shave them again before I see Alex this weekend ;).

Despite my unshaven legs situation, I managed to have a decent 5 mile recovery run at 10 minute pace.  My legs definitely were tired by the end, but not too heavy or sore.  After my workout, I quickly went home to shower and then was off to the salon to get my hair cut.

I used to go into the city to get my hair done, but I really don’t have time to do that anymore so I went to a new place last night.  Man did my hair dresser let me have it, haha.  Apparently waiting 5 months for a haircut is way too long, and I need a new straightener because my hair is super damaged.  :(.  Two September’s ago, in a moment I’d like to take back and claim temporary insanity, I did this to my hair:

yuck

and I’ve been growing it out ever since.  At about 20 lbs heavier than I currently am, a short blond bob was not a good look for me.  So I told Nikki, the hair dresser, that I wanted to try to keep most of the length and she informed me that I needed to lose like two inches.  Sad.  It’s still pretty long I suppose, it just feels much shorter.

new hair do

Also, boyfriend’s stolen sweater, makes a great oversized sweater/dress with leggings and Uggs.

Giveaway Winner!

The winner of the $45 CSN gift card is….

Sarah W! Congrats, shoot me an email, and I’ll send you the information!  Thanks to everyone who entered, come back and try again next time!

Another dreary and cold day here in PA, but hey at least I can finally wear sweaters!

That Time Again!

My bedroom furniture is seriously standing on its last legs.  It was an antique given to my mom and passed down to me, and some days I’m afraid the wooden frame is going to collapse and leave me sleeping on the floor.  I am in desperate need of new bed sets, which is why I wish I could win my own giveaway!  Last week I was once again contacted by CSN Stores to do a giveaway, and since I know how much everyone loves a giveaway I happily agreed.  The prize up for grabs this time is a $45 gift card good for use on any of the CSN Stores sites.

The gift card does not cover shipping costs, but you can still pick up something pretty nice with $45.  I’ll leave the contest open until Monday at midnight EST, and announce the winner on Tuesday morning.  Two ways to enter.

  1. Leave a comment on this post
  2. For a second bonus entry, tweet about the giveaway and leave another comment telling me you tweeted.

Good luck!

Last nights workout was a good one, a 5 mile tempo run with the middle 3 miles at 9:05 pace.  My legs felt good, my stomach however was a different story.  It started hurting at mile 2, and ached for the entire rest of the run.  Ugh, I hate when that happens because it was all I could think about.  Either way, I sucked it up and finished my run in about 47 minutes.

Also, Alex says thanks for all the birthday wishes.  He treated himself to a lovely birthday lunch of Five Guys, not bad if you ask me.  I got some exciting news/news that will stress me out until next week yesterday, and I celebrated by enjoying on of my favorite CPK pizzas for dinner.  The Spinach and Artichoke crispy thin crust is the best, and a Pomegranate vodka with blueberry pomegranate POM juice went perfectly with it.  Yeah, I’m still making my way through the case that POM sent me months ago haha.

I’m heading to Arlington, VA tomorrow to hang with my girlfriends for the weekend and I’m pretty excited about it.  I do however have a 9 mile long run on the schedule for Saturday morning and am looking for a good path/place to run it.  The girls live right near the 4 Mile Run Trail, does anyone know how far East that goes?  Can I follow it all the way to the water, or should I run West on it?  Also, if anyone wants to accompany me for those 9 miles that could be fun too!

Ok well, happy Thursday and don’t forget to enter the giveaway!
