Feeling Blue

So many sad and depressing things about today.

  1. No more holiday cups at Starbucks
  2. Not a day off until February
  3. It’s January
  4. It’s Monday

Grumpy enough for you?  Good, then you’re clued in as to how I’m feeling today.  At least it’s not February?  Sigh, I promise I’ll cheer up as soon as I finish my coffee.  I was hit hard with the end of holiday/vacation blues on Saturday and Sunday, it didn’t help that I was alone.  Saturday I spent the whole day on the couch watching Lifetime, only moving to go out and pick up some Chinese food when I thought I might actually die of starvation.  At least I had these pretty flowers to look at and feel happy :).

My absolute favorite flowers

Sunday brought much of the same, except I didn’t even get out of bed until about 12:30, again to only go pick up food.  I watched the entire Season 4 and half of Season 5 of Dexter yesterday.  I’ll let you do the math and figure out how many hours that is.  The roommates finally returned from Pittsburgh around 6:30 and I was so happy to see them, and to hear about their weekend.   Then it was back to watching more Dexter.  Watching it all in a row like that is so much better than waiting for a new episode from week to week.  It’s like a never ending Dexter movie, and really, who can complain about that.

So, somehow with moving, starting a new job, getting adjusted to the area, the holidays, I kind of forgot to work out for the past two and a half weeks.  Kind of shocking since I’m typically a freak about things like that, but I’m actually ok with it.  Today though, I’m hoping to end the non-working out streak, since I am signed up for a 10 mile race in April and I would really like to run 1:30 or below in it.  The real problem is I still don’t have my gym situation figured out.  I never joined the one across the street from work because our fitness facility in work is scheduled to open in January or February.  The gym I do belong to is closer to my house, which means I have to convince myself to go after my 40-50 minute commute home.  Blah, someone motivate me!

Um, alright, I guess that’s enough complaining for a Monday.  I have a feeling a full five-day week might be torture.  Good luck everyone.

Some Pretty Flowers

Look what the boyfriend brought me on Friday afternoon.

They just recently started to open fully so I figured I shoot some pics of them.  Apparently they were “thank you for putting up with my indecisiveness” flowers.  Haha no matter what they’re for I like them.  Thanks babe 😉

Last night after work was a little bit of a struggle for me, I didn’t have PT until 7:00 which meant I sat around on the couch from 4-6:30.  By the time I had to drag myself up and out the door I really just wanted to lay down and go to sleep, haha.  I was the last appointment of the day, and I think they were as anxious for me to get out of there as I was because I was only there for an hour.  Also since I have been running so much on my own at home, I rode a bike for 20 minutes.  Now I remember why I hate spinning, my butt hurts today.  Stupid seat.  I have 2 more appointments scheduled next week and then that’s it, so we’ll see if I get discharged or if I have to schedule more.  Fingers crossed for me!

After PT, I collapsed on the couch with a glass of wine and some tuna and pasta salad combo.  I don’t know, it was good, I was hungry and tired.

Bedtime came around 9:45, don’t laugh at me, the long weekend wore me out.  I am however, very excited that today is already Wednesday, I think I might actually make it through this week alive.  Have a great day everyone!

Torture

Well I finally caved and broke out my open toed heels for work today.  With the weather looking like this for the next few days I figured I might as well.

Apparently if we actually hit that 91 degrees, it will set a record for the area.  It is absolute torture to be stuck inside at work right now, and I am very jealous of the bf’s current unemployed status.  He got to spend all day yesterday watching baseball games and having fun while I sat in an ice-cold office :(.  Because of all this amazing warm weather, the flowers and trees are in full bloom.  I took some of these over the weekend at my aunt’s house.

I had PT last night, and it was pretty much the exact routine as last time.  I do have one complaint though, on Thursdays I work with Doug who is older and seems more experienced, and on Mondays I have Jason who just seems to kind of go through the process.  The stretches last night were not nearly as stretching, and he didn’t watch to make sure I was doing my strengthening exercises correctly.  He also asked me if I was doing much running, and I wanted to be like “No dude, I’m not running, I haven’t run in months, I am in pain after walking for a few hours.”  And then he put me on a stationary bike for 15 minutes, when Doug told me not to do even the elliptical for at least three weeks.  I don’t know, it seems like they need to get on the same page.

By the time I got home it was 7:00, and I wasn’t even really that hungry so I just heated up some leftover Weeknight Lasagna and had that while watching Dancing With The Stars.  Kate needs to go, she’s awful, and just looks like she’s stomping around on the dance floor.  I changed the channel, it was that awful and hard to watch.  Despite Derek and Nicole’s “non-traditional” quick step I thought they were awesome.  If one of the actual good teams goes home so Kate can stay I will officially boycott DWTS.

I know I’m almost 25 years-old, but I still get an Easter basket :).  This year I specifically asked for no candy or chocolate though, and ended up with a pretty cool one.

I’m very excited to try out all my new ingredients.  I’m pretty sure the recipe on the plate uses everything that came in the basket.  Alright everyone, have a Happy Tuesday!
