OCD Tendencies

Oh, ello, and happy Tuesday to you.  I’m in a relatively good mood today because I’m wearing my new favorite outfit, seen here on my Instagram feed.  If you’re not following me, you should, I post lots of cute cat pictures.

Yesterday was a pretty productive and enjoyable Monday, mostly because I was slow at work and spent most of my time organizing my design thoughts.

Just ignore me while I sit here with scissors and magazines, NBD

Eventually, all these thoughts will make it into a binder, with plastic protective covers and paint samples and given to my love so he can get to work :).  I have a feeling there may be some disagreement over paint covers, but I let him buy these chairs, so I think I’ll win.  Every time.

Have you ever seen anything so hideous in your life? Didn't think so.

Gah, they hurt my eyeballs just to look at them.  Men.  The organization didn’t end with the work day, instead I decided to bail on yoga, hit up the grocery store and tackle my disaster area of a room.  Since it’s now April, I decided winter is officially over and the time to switch over my closets is here.  My boots went back in the respective boxes, and out came the sandals, wedges, and open toed heels.  Sweaters were moved to make room for colorful tank tops and t-shirts, and now my closet is 1000 times brighter.

ta da!

Every time I clean and organize my room, I wonder why it took me so long to do so.  It’s a much nicer place to hang out in now.  Next on the cleaning agenda is to vacuum and scrub the bathroom.  It’s a process friends, don’t rush me.

I never got hungry for dinner, and I’m still not very hungry, so I’m probably dying.  I’ll be sure to keep you updated on that.  Good news is though, my mom gave me some of her Allegra and it is working miracles! Bad news, I only have one pill left.  Where can a girl get some more of that? My ears are unclogged for the first time in two months and it is glorious.

Alright, well I’m off to go flip through more design magazines and scour the HGTV website.  If you need me, I’ll be the crazy one surrounded by tape and scissors at my desk.  Smooches.

Losing It

I HURT today, and not just like man my legs are sore.  Hitting my clutch on the drive to work this morning was legitimately painful, my IT band hasn’t hurt this much since before my PT last year, and my left knee is swollen, haha I am a mess.  I purposely parked on the top level of the parking garage so I could avoid all stairs.  If you missed my happy and cheery race recap, you can read it here.  Anyway, it’s supposed to hit 80 today so the roommates and I are grilling tonight, and I can’t think of a better way to spend a rest day.

I also seriously think I am losing my mind, either that or I need to dye my hair blond again.  This weekends happenings alone are a prime example.  On Saturday I had to venture into DC alone for the Cherry Blossom Expo, and I hadn’t used my Metro card in a while.  So while trying to look at it and figure out how much was left on it, I couldn’t for the life of me make sense of the numbers.  You see, I was looking at them vertically and trying to figure it out.  Don’t ask me why, clearly it’s obvious that your remaining balance is printing horizontally.

No, seriously, it took buying a new card to realize I still had $14 left on my old one.  Dumbass.  After leaving the expo I had to find my way from China Town to the Mall for my first kickball game of the season.  Don’t even get me started on how many times I walked in the wrong direction before finally figuring it out.  I need to take map reading lessons, even when Google Maps is telling me my exact location I walk around in circles.

Kickball was fun, even with the hail storm that assaulted us for 10 minutes before the sun finally came out.  I admit that maybe standing out in the freezing cold hail, playing kickball, the day before a race maybe wasn’t the best idea, but it was our first game!  Happy to say we won, and then my team went on to win our flip cup matchup without me while I headed home to rest up.  All that really means is I came home and spiked some Blondies with Bourbon (more on those later).  Oh wait, I had a point to make.

After playing kickball in the cold, and being rained and hailed on, I could not wait to get home and take a steaming hot shower.  In fact, it’s the first thing I did when I walked in the door, I even forgot to take my sports bra off before getting in.  Do I still have to wash it?  Dumbass moment number 2 of the weekend.

The final kicker?  While getting all my race gear together on Saturday night I moved my remote control out of the way, and not five minutes later could not for the life of me remember where I put it.  This happened last week too, so the place I found it the last time was the first place I looked.  No cigar.  Finally I gave up and just went to bed.  I finally found the remote last night in one of my dresser drawers.  Seriously, what the hell is going on with me?  I am too young to be losing my mind.

After the race yesterday, I had a lovely time at brunch with the roommates downing mimosas (I think I had 4) and destroying a plate of Oscar Benedict.  The rest of the day involved lounging on the couch, watching movies, drinking beer and eating blondies.  Not too bad if you ask me.  I’m hoping to do as little moving around as possible today, hopefully no one bothers me.

So Evil

Yesterday it was 72, today I woke up and it was 33.  Should I just resign to the fact that I’m going to get sick?  Because seriously, the drastic temperature changes are just a flu waiting to happen.  Crap, and I just remembered I forgot to take my new gummy vitamins the past two days.  I’m a huge failure at vitamin taking, and I’d hoped having fun delicious ones would help.  Apparently not.  Sigh.

I headed to the gym after work yesterday and got in a lousy 4 miles at about 9:22 pace.  I say lousy because if I had to guess, I’d say it was a balmy 80 degrees in the gym last night.  And humid.  I know I complain about this a lot, but last night was seriously on the verge of unbearable.  I have never sweat so much in my life.  I cooled down with 15 minutes on the elliptical, and then tried to find an air vent blowing cool air  to stand under.  Which I did, for a good 5 minutes.  I’ve complained to the front desk before, but the only answer I ever get is that the manager has certain temperatures he has to stay between.  What are they, hot and burning in hell?

In other news, I almost threw Pumpkin out my bedroom window last night.  The little asshole thinks it’s perfectly acceptable to do wind sprints around my room, up and down the stairs, and jumping on and off the bed at 2 am.  News flash cat, it’s not.  I can’t lock her out of my room either, because then she sits outside my door crying and I don’t want her to wake everyone in the house up.  She’s been doing this a lot lately, it’s getting old.  So in a sleep deprived, evil mood this morning, I got some revenge.  When I came walking down the stairs to see her curled up  on the chair sleeping, I said to myself, “Oh hell no, you’re not going to sleep all day and keep me up all night.”  I walked over to her, picked her up and dropped her on the floor (don’t worry she landed on her feet), muahaha, take that cat.  She was quite confused, it made me feel better.  I am evil.

Anywho, happy 1st day of March!  I’m so happy that spring is just around the corner for real now.

Also, this morning I woke up and couldn’t remember what day it was.  Then I remembered it was only Tuesday and cried a little.  Try not to hate it too much.
