Glad to see I’m not alone in my love of countdowns. It really is so satisfying to check off days and see something get closer and closer. Anyway, to those of you who asked, I will be going to the Montego Bay area of Jamaica which looks beautiful to me despite one commenter saying they were not impressed. I’m pretty easy to please, give me a swim up bar, lounge chairs on the beach, and some decent food and we’re good to go.
As I said yesterday, I had a speed work session on the training plan for last night. It almost didn’t happen. Until I actually passed the exit on the highway that would take me home and continued on to the one to the gym, I hadn’t decided whether I was going or not. I went, and did 3×1 mile repeats at 8:15 pace. It was supposed to be 4, but mile repeats are a bitch and I didn’t want to do the last one. All together 3.75 on the treadmill followed by 20 minutes on the elliptical. I felt much better after working out, so I’m glad I forced myself to go.
The Flyers and the Caps played each other last night, so the roommates and I sat watching the game, rooting against each other. Unfortunately the Flyers lost in a shoot out, but it was a close game and should be an interesting match up if the teams end up meeting in the playoffs. Dani and I already decided that lots of booze will have to be involved if that happens.
So, the National Marathon/Half Marathon is this weekend and I know tons of people are coming in from out of town to run. I’m not running, but I’m thinking about spectating and really want to have a chance to meet up with some of the out of towners coming in. So, who’s running, are there plans for a meet up in the works? Let me know!
Wednesday friends, get excited. Although, I do apologize to everyone up north who is getting snow today. That blows.
