Was it really already a month ago?

Hey so remember how just the other day I was whining about how this winter was lame and I wanted it to snow?  Well, yesterday it did just that.  Only, it wasn’t the huge snow storm I wished for that would keep me home from work.  Instead, it was a light dusting that started in the late afternoon, just in time to make my commute home make me want to kill people.

snowwwww, and Christmas decorations that need to come down

I’ll procrastinated at the gym for as long as possible, before I started to get light headed from hunger and finally faced the war zone of traffic for my drive home.  The workout consisted of 45 minutes on the elliptical, abs (three types of crunches) and planks, and push-ups.  Some of my other lady friends have been doing this lifting program, and I’m thinking I might try it out because I’m super bored of what I have been doing.  We’ll see though, they’re all super far ahead of me, and I don’t like lagging behind.

As much as I love the snow in the winter time, I couldn’t help but be reminded that on this day last month I was on my way to warm and sunny Jamaica with my love.

Oh hi, take me back please.  Dar says we’ll go on another trip, but I don’t know if I believe him.  I also think it might be a tad too soon to start bugging him and planning another one.  He has other things on his mind, like buying a house, or something.  I don’t know, whatever.  I guess I should also finish paying him back for that one before I start talking about another, hmm…

Anyway, it’s Tuesday, which we all know is a far suckier day of the week than Monday.  So, I curled my hair and wore a comfy pink sweater to see if it made it a little better.  No luck so far, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed.  Later!

Warding off the Sadness

So, I’ve stated this many times before, but I’m basically an idiot.  Especially when it comes to thinking I’m right about something, there’s no need to check the details, I’ve got it covered.  You know what I mean though right?  You get an idea in your head, and before long you’re absolutely convinced you have the details right.  Where am I going with this?  Well, Dar and I kind of got a delayed Christmas gift in the form of some amazing news yesterday.  (I edited the rest of this paragraph after the first day of posting, just in case I should ever become super popular and easily located through Google.  Email me if you missed what was originally written.)

In other news, in an effort to combat my complete laziness and glutton over the weekend, I hit the gym last night for a workout.  45 minutes on the elliptical and some ab work that included crunches and planks.  I’m really trying to keep up all the workout motivation I had before going on vacation, but now that I’m bundled in sweaters and scarves, it’s much easier to say f-it and go home and put on pajamas.

Once I got home I spend an absurd amount of time playing on Instyle.com using their Hollywood makeover putting bangs on my face.  I have a hair appointment tomorrow, and as you all know, have been trying to decide whether or not to go for it since August.  Obviously these pictures look completely ridiculous because you can tell the hair is computer generated, but maybe they’ll give you a general idea of what I’d look like.

Haha, I am embarrassed for myself, but whatever.  Both of those are Lea Michelle’s hair, and I think I’m going to go for it. Hair grows back after all, right?  HALP!  Also, I’d really like to thank my tan for still hanging around and helping my face out when I have no makeup on.  Lifesaver I tell ya.

Alright, that’s enough narcissism from me today.  Don’t worry, there’s sure to be more on Friday when I end the suspense and let you all know what I ended up doing to my hair!  Later!

Sunshine and Rainbows, Literally

Oh hey, sorry for the disappearing act, but I’ve been mopey and uninteresting since Sunday so I decided to keep all that to myself.  Don’t get me wrong, I’m still relatively uninteresting, but at least I have a few things to share.

First of all, our vacation is officially paid in full!  Well, technically I still owe Darren a few hundred dollars, but our resort is all paid for.  45 days and counting until a week in paradise!

Monday night the roommates and I took advantage of half priced burgers and $1 beers at Hard Times.  An entire meal and two beers for $10, I’ll take it.  Then we all were in bed by 9:30.  The weekend was pretty tiring for all of us.  Needless to say, no workout happened on Monday.

Yesterday I made my return to the gym for the first time since last Wednesday and completed 50 minutes of cardio splitting it between the ARC trainer and elliptical.  I followed it up with the oblique workout I shared last week, push-ups, and some more ab exercises.

So you guys want to hear something lame?  Halloween is on Monday and I still have zero costume ideas and am about ready to throw in the towel on dressing up for this year.  There’s even a Halloween party on Saturday night that I’ll probably end up  not going to.  What a Scrooge I am.  Do any of you all have some great ideas this year? What are you dressing up as?

Lastly, I took this while driving home on Monday night.  So pretty.

Happy Wednesday.
