Pinterest Owns Me

This past weekend was spent accomplishing all the things I’d recently seen on Pinterest that caught my eye.  First up was a Valentine’s Day wreath to replace our Christmas themed one that was currently hanging on our front door.  The tutorial can be found here, and while this was incredibly time consuming it wasn’t too difficult.

I bought all my supplies at Joann’s fabrics, two styrofoam heart shaped wreaths, 3/4 yard of red glittery felt, about 24 sheets of white and pink felt, and a pack of 340 straight pins.  Tracing the 3 inch circles onto the felt and then cutting them out was the worst part of this craft, and luckily by the time I moved onto wreath number two I realized I could triple up the sheets of felt and cut three circles at a time.

Once the circles are cut out, you fold them in half, and then in half again, place the straight pin through the bottom and pin into the styrofoam.

By the time I moved onto wreath number two on Saturday afternoon, I had a system all worked out.  I cut out every circle of felt before I started pinning, and knew the best way to position each piece.

Seeing how much better the second one turned out, kind of makes me want to re-do the first one, but even I’m not that crazy.  Anyway it was a fun craft that kept me occupied during the winter weather this weekend brought us.  The pink and white heart would also make a cute decoration in a baby girl’s room.
