Rough Start

Today, has not gotten off to the best start.  The cat puked on my bedroom floor sometime around 6 am, I locked myself out of the house and had to break back in, there was an accident on the way to work making me 20 minutes late, I almost fell down the stairs, and to top it all off my head hurts so bad it’s making me nauseous.  I didn’t even drink last night!  Suck it Tuesday.

Ugh, anyway, I got right back into my regular routine yesterday with a lunch time workout.  45 minutes on the elliptical followed by 1 mile on the treadmill at about 8:30 pace.  After work I actually surprised myself by running the errands I needed to run. $63 shelled out at the dry cleaners for two pairs of pants I had taken in and a sweater that needed stitching, and stocking up on groceries.  Lots of frozen veggies, sweet potatoes, and chicken in my diet for the next 11 days.  Oh and did I mention I’m not drinking?  I suspect I’ll be quite pleasant to be around.

I also took full advantage of Cyber Monday yesterday, and knocked out almost all of my Christmas shopping.  My mom is the only person left on my list, and I plan on taking care of her sometime today.  I scored some awesome deals, like 30% off my entire order at one store and 25% off at another.  Love it.

When I was at my mom’s house this past weekend, I discovered and fell in love with my sister’s curling wand.  My girls Amy and Jess had professed their love for them before, but I’d never had the chance to use on.  Well after one video tutorial, and 5 minutes, I was hooked.  Mostly because it made my hair look like this:

Oh, hello beautiful curls that last without hair spray and still look awesome after sleeping.

And again.  I’m obsessed, and I tried to steal my sisters but she was not having it.  I also now know how Taylor Swift does her hair, because that is what my curls looked like right after I was done.  So yeah, I don’t know what it is about the curling wand, but it’s magic.

Alright, I’m off to hunt down some Advil and pray this headache goes away.  Peace.

  1. Was the curling wand made by Remington?? I just got one a few weeks ago and experimented with it this past week/weekend… amazing! I’ve never gotten so many compliments!

  2. Those curling wands are so cool. I wish I was capable of doing my hair. Basically anything more advanced than pinning my bangs back is too hard for me.

  3. Hope you feel better.

  4. haha I always think I look like I have Taylor Swift hair when I use mine too. Which sucks bc she kind of annoys me, but whatever, that thing is gold. Also if you use bigger chunks of hair you get more of a beach wave which is my new fave. Oh look, I rhymed. Ok then…

    • Hmm I’ll have to try the bigger chunks of hair. Although I’m afraid I’d run out of room to wrap on the wand? Totally bringing it to Jamiaca. I do not need a fro for a week.

  5. God, I hate the sound of a cat hurking at 6 a.m. Our kitten likes to eat all her food in one breath and then come barf under the bed. GOOD MORNING, CHUMPS!

Your sexy hair makes me want to buy you a drink and then try to sleep with you. Maybe you can come over and do mine, since I haven’t washed or combed it in 4 days…

    • Haha I’d love to come over, do your hair, have a drink, and then let you try to seduce me! I did my sister’s on Saturday, it’s easy!

  6. Hope you feel better!

  7. Curling wand?! Where would one find such a thing? I need this in my life!

  8. I hope you feel better! What type of wand was it? I recently tryed the pink perl one. I have tried everything on my hair and nothing works! If it curls at all..it will fall out within an hour 😦 Yours looks adorable!

  9. Which curling wand did you use?

  10. I really need to buy one of those. I’m so weird about the things I’m cheap about, but for some reason $30 for a curling iron is too expensive. Makes no sense considering some of the Cyber Monday purchases made yesterday… The curls look great!

    • OMG I’m the same way. I have no problem dropping over $100 at Target on complete crap (next time it’ll probably be that curling wand), but I avoid going to doctors because of the copay. Cause that makes sense.

  11. K-Swizzle!

And I agreed with kacy at first- I just didn’t want to spend the money, but after trying my friend’s, I knew it’d be worth it! Love…

And I spent my lunch hour at the DMV. Suck it Tuesday…

  12. Damn, now you’re on the curling wand bandwagon? You guys are making me really want to try it, but I’m scurred. I’m actually really horrible at doing my own hair. Good job on the Christmas shopping! I have still yet to begin…oops.

  13. Ok I NEED one of those! I’m sorry your day started off so sucky, but man, with hair like that, how could the day be bad?! haha

  14. Ooh I like that curling wand…I might need one of those. Need. Yes need!

  15. I love how your hair looks curly! I definitely need to invest in one of those curling wands. I always try to curl my hair but it never turns out as I planned. I hope you are feeling better 🙂
