Weeeee, happy Friday! Now there’s only 2.5 days next week standing between me and Thanksgiving. Well, hopefully, I’m assuming we will get to leave somewhat early from work on Wednesday. Fingers crossed, because I would really like to beat traffic home.
Last night I hit the gym for the 4th day in a row. I know who am I? Don’t worry I have no plans to work out today. I did a 15 minute warm-up on the treadmill, spending the last 10 minutes alternating between 7.2 mph for 2 minutes and 6.2 mph for one minute. I was definitely warmed-up. After the run, I moved on to my favorite oblique moves followed by something my friend Wes told me to try. A push-up pyramid. Do one push-up, rest five seconds, two push-ups, rest five seconds, etc until you reach 10. Then work your way back down.
I made it up to 7, which if you do the math is actually 28 push-ups, and then back down to 1 makes 56. Half-way through I had to switch my hand placement from flat on the floor to holding dumbbells because my wrists are so fucked up from gymnastics. It was a killer workout and my chest, arms, and abs are sore today. Success!
I ran into one of my co-workers (obviously, it’s a work gym) who informed me that there was a happy hour going on that he was heading to when he finished his workout, and passed on an invite. I took one look at the traffic app on my phone, saw that it was at “9 and building” and figured why not go have a beer. A beer turned into 3 beers, and a night of trivia at the bar. Wanna know the one question I knew the answer to? “In what year did Phil Collins win an Academy Award for his original song You’ll Be in My Heart?”
Me: “Duh, that’s the song from Tarzan, I know for a fact I watched that movie on DVD when I was a Freshman in high school.”
Everyone: Blank stares
Me:”It was totally the year 2000.”
Bonus points for getting the year exactly, and not just within the 2 year range given? Two, boo-ya. Mostly people were just appalled by the fact that I was a Freshman in high school in the year 2000. I also may have agreed to a cross-fit workout next week with two other coworkers. Damn me and my drunken big mouth.
I made it home by about 10, where I proceeded to stay up way too late watching the two-hour Private Practice episode. It was good, and also quite sad. Now I’m tired today, and ready for a relaxing evening at home. Bring it weekend.
Have a great one!

The bar by my house used to have a music trivia night. They would play the first couple seconds of a song and you’d have to guess it. I loved those nights, they were so much fun.
What was your trivia team name? I always think coming up with a clever name is the hardest part.
I’m still sooo terrible at pushups! I have to do them on my knees still like a little baby. Good job on the trivia..I’m one of the worst triva players of all time I think. Happy Friday 🙂
I like the Private Practice episode, but felt like they ripped the death scene out of Breaking Bad, verbatim, which kind of ruined it for me. The Violet/Pete thing got me though. Sad!
Damn girl, you are a push-up machine! I think I did like 15 on Wednesday and wanted to crawl in a hole and die.
I totally suck at trivia.
However, I did have the round winning question when we were playing sex trivia at the bar by my house. Yes, I did. No, I’d rather not disclose what the question/answer was…
I’m pretty good with music trivia, too! At quizzo people were complimenting my skills with the name of the rapper who sang Informer.

That being said, I still don’t knwo half the states capitals.
[…] Like ones to talk me into a decent workout. I’ve been on the hunt for new things to fill my attention deficit mind, and Kelly suggested trying the pyramid push up workout she does. […]
