Glad to see I’m not alone in my love of countdowns.  It really is so satisfying to check off days and see something get closer and closer.  Anyway, to those of you who asked, I will be going to the Montego Bay area of Jamaica which looks beautiful to me despite one commenter saying they were not impressed.  I’m pretty easy to please, give me a swim up bar, lounge chairs on the beach, and some decent food and we’re good to go.

As I said yesterday, I had a speed work session on the training plan for last night.  It almost didn’t happen.  Until I actually passed the exit on the highway that would take me home and continued on to the one to the gym, I hadn’t decided whether I was going or not.  I went, and did 3×1 mile repeats at 8:15 pace.  It was supposed to be 4, but mile repeats are a bitch and I didn’t want to do the last one.  All together 3.75 on the treadmill followed by 20 minutes on the elliptical.  I felt much better after working out, so I’m glad I forced myself to go.

The Flyers and the Caps played each other last night, so the roommates and I sat watching the game, rooting against each other.  Unfortunately the Flyers lost in a shoot out, but it was a close game and should be an interesting match up if the teams end up meeting in the playoffs.  Dani and I already decided that lots of booze will have to be involved if that happens.

So, the National Marathon/Half Marathon is this weekend and I know tons of people are coming in from out of town to run.  I’m not running, but I’m thinking about spectating and really want to have a chance to meet up with some of the out of towners coming in.  So, who’s running, are there plans for a meet up in the works?  Let me know!

Wednesday friends, get excited.  Although, I do apologize to everyone up north who is getting snow today.  That blows.

  1. I love that you and your roommates root against each other. That’s hilarious.

  2. I think I’m moving in with a cubs fan this summer. Roommate rivalry is fun. Being a true St. Louis girl, it’s gonna get interesting.

Yes, that’s right- moving. Into the city. Weeee!

  3. EEk, congrats on planning a December vacation! I am jealous. I have actually been to Montego Bay before, and while the downtown area leaves a LOT to be desired, the resort areas are much nicer and less….busy. I found downtown to be dirty with a ton of beggers who have no sense of personal space. Once you get through those resort doors…paradise found!

  4. I guess there’s an “official” meet-up in Clarendon Saturday night at Northside Social? That’s the latest I’ve heard.
I’m hoping I can make it. I have an apartment I’m looking at at 6 p.m. and plan to head straight there (I’m sure I’ll look awesome since I fly in that day) but the SIL made me promise her we could see the white house at night, so we’ll be heading downtown afterwards…
Hope I get to see you! Email or text me!

    • Yeah I saw that email. That’s close to me so I’ll probably go check it out. I hope I see you there or at least at some point while you’re in town!

  5. Snow…ew. And I thought we had it bad..

  6. Household rivalaries are fun. Keith HATES the Colts and Peyton Manning so whenever they play his beloved Cowboys it is like someone drew a line right down the middle of the living room. Thankfully the Colts have won the last 2 years in a row. bahahahah!

  7. The weather wasn’t as awful as predicted. More a cold, misty rain…at least when I got up ha

  8. Yes, Northside Social in Clarendon…but I will be going in to spectate as well so if you want to meet up for that, let me know! I’m not sure where I am watching from yet. Wherever I can find an empty space I guess!
