Ready for Spring

It’s a pretty awful Monday morning out there today.  I woke up to a huge thunderstorm, which made the morning commute in that much more fun, not.  Anyway, like I said Saturday, the girls and I had an important date at the salon to get our nails done, and I think we all left feeling much prettier.  I know I’m no longer embarrassed to wear flip flops, which is good, since I officially packed all my boots away yesterday.

OPI Ogre the Top Blue on my Toes, ESSIE Fiji on the nails

I suspect the manicure will start to chip by the end of the day today.  They typically have about a two day life span with me.  After getting our nails done, the three of us headed over to our friend’s house for an afternoon of bbqing, sports watching, and drinking games.  It reminded me of college, complete with a late night Wendy’s stop on the drive home.  The best part was getting to play with our friends Adam and Karyn’s new puppy, Captain!

He just wandered around the backyard, chewing on grass and his bone.  Such a good little guy, and so cute!  Yesterday started off pretty lazy.  I made breakfasts for the roommates, and ended up lounging around on the couch until about 2:30 when I drug Dani with me to the grocery store.

Before I knew it, it was time to make dinner, and I decided to go with a simple baked ziti recipe.  Half a can of sauce mixed together with half a container of ricotta, one TJ’s smoked apple chardonnay chicken sausage, and half a box of pasta.  It came together pretty quickly, and was delicious.  Of course I had a few glasses of red wine and slices of garlic bread to accompany my dinner.  A few episodes of Criminal Minds later, and it was time to pack it in for the night.

I’m heading into my last two weeks of training for the Cherry Blossom 1o Miler, and I’m not going to lie, I’m pretty thrilled.  The weekends are about to get super busy with traveling, and other events, so the end of training could not come at a better time.  Already in the month of April I have a trip to NYC planned, going home for Easter, and then Darren will be visiting.  It’s time for a much needed training break.

Alright kids, well happy first full day of spring, and happy Monday I suppose.
