Pizza and Vodka Cure All

Well, yesterday was a shitty day.  Without really going too much into it, things keep going on at work that make it less and less appealing to be here.  I didn’t think it was possible to have them treat us, as contractors, any more unfairly than they already do, but sure enough it is.  Needless to say, after an infuriating afternoon at work I was more than ready to burn off some frustration on the treadmill.  I’m trying to gradually increase my pace for my runs so that it’s possible for me to run a sub 2 hours half marathon in November, and this is what yesterdays 4 miles looked like.

  • Mile 1: 9:22
  • Mile 2: 9:22
  • Mile 3: 9:05
  • Mile 4: 8:34
  • 36:23 or a 9:05 pace

Getting faster!  To break 2 hours, I need to run a 9:05 pace, so I’m getting on target.  There is a 4:30 yoga class at my gym today that I am thinking about trying.  I don’t know how good it will be, but I still haven’t bought the Yoga Meltdown DVD and I’m missing it now that it’s gone from Exercise TV.

Despite my good run, I was still in a horrible mood when I got home and decided to treat myself to a cocktail.  I made myself a CPK Margarita Pizza for one and a Raspberry vodka and club.  Quite a delicious combo for a Monday night.

One of these, but the Margarita version.  Although now looking at this, I’m remembering how good the Pesto Chicken one was, yum.  After dinner, I also indulged in a glass of wine while I watched The Bachelorette and Jennifer Love Hewitt’s Lifetime movie, The Client List.  Both were as entertaining as expected, I can’t believe the season finale of The Bachelorette is in two weeks, I really really really hope she picks Chris L.  I love him.

In other news, today is my moms birthday, so Happy Birthday Mom!  Yup, 25 years ago I was the best birthday present ever seeing as she was still in the hospital for hers after giving birth to me two days prior.

Well here’s to hoping that Tuesday doesn’t suck as much as Monday did.  See ya!

  1. So sorry for the shitty day, girl 😦 Hope things turn around at work soon.

  2. I just read this so now it’s 8:30 in the morning and I want Pizza and Vodka….Thanks Kelly! Haha

  3. So sorry work blows right now. 😦

But hell yeah on the pace time! One of my goals for the half is to be under two hours as well… which is a much more difficult goal than I originally anticipated being as how my pace time hits the dust after 6 or 7 miles. I’m jealous of how you can keep a steady mile pace! (even my running is ocd)

    • Well on the treadmill its pretty easy to keep it at a steady pace, I’m definitely all over the place when I run outside. And ahem didn’t u just run an 8:10 pace 10k?? That’s pretty speedy!

  4. Lame. I’m sorry work is such a bore…that’s pretty miserable. Hopefully it evens out after yesterday. You can only self-medicate with the pizza-vodka combo before its potency wears off.

  5. aw, hope work gets better for you. one more reason to give that job the boot and head to DC!

  7. Ugh, sorry for the work stress and frustration. I can completely relate. Cocktails are definitely a cure all. I love Roberto, but Chris L is definitely adorable.

  8. I’m so sorry about your job–i saw your tweets! At least it’s helping you with the running! I always work out better when I’m pissed off…sorry I’m trying REALLY hard to look at the bright side for you.

    I love Chris L too!

  9. I’m totally bummed about Yoga Meltdown missing from Exercise TV too! I was thinking about caving in and buying it.. that’s probably why they do that.. 🙂 Feel better!!
