All My Bags are Packed

Looks like I generated some controversy up in here yesterday, haha.  Can’t we all just get along?  Unless you’re a Red Sox fan, then we just can’t be friends at all, sorry.  Haha, kiddingggg, sort of.

Last night was an impromptu rest night for me.  I was having some knee pain throughout the day (not IT band knee pain, drunken falling knee pain) so I thought it would be smarter to sit and ice it then work out.  I also indulged in a glass or two of red wine.  I was trying to make it through the week without having any, but I figure hey Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday was good enough.  Really, as sad as this may be, that’s a huge accomplishment for me haha.

A couple of weeks ago, I had picked up one of the new PF Chang’s frozen meals for 2 at my grocery store and my sister and I decided last night was a perfect night for it.  Last summer we would have Wednesday date nights every week, where we would go to dinner and see a  movie, and PF Chang’s was frequently our restaurant of choice.

Served on a bed of brown rice, leftover from Tuesday.  I really enjoyed this meal, the chicken was good, the sauce not too sweet or tangy, and the pineapple and bell pepper were excellent.  Each serving size has about 410 calories, so it’s a pretty calorie dense meal but kept me relatively full until bed time.  Adding the 1/4 cup of brown rice might have helped with that.  I’ll probably buy this again to keep on hand for a quick meal.  I also want to try to replicate it for a homemade, healthier version.

I’m off to NYC in about 2 hours for the baseball game tonight, and then my sister is meeting me up there tomorrow for the rest of the weekend.  No definite plans yet, although I’m pretty sure I’ll be in a bar at 10 am tomorrow morning watching the World Cup game.  If you follow me on Twitter I’ll be updating there throughout the weekend, and I’ll try to at least get a few posts up.  I hope everyone has a great rest of the workweek and fantastic weekend!  Talk to you from NYC!

  1. Have a great weekend!

  2. I heard about those PF Changs meals and wondered if they’d be any good. I love sweet and sour chicken!!

  3. Lucky girl! Enjoy the vacay!

Oh and we broke into the red wine last night, too. Which is odd for me becaused I’m definitely more of a dry white wine kind of girl… but I liked it! 🙂

  4. Have fun! I’ll be eagerly awaiting the increasingly inebriated futbol tweets.

  5. Fun!!! Have a great weekend!

  6. I had no idea that Pf Changs made a grocery line! I am going to have to look for those! Have fun in NYC!

  7. I maintain that a glass of wine every night is good for you! 🙂

Hope you have fun this weekend 🙂

  8. LOLZ. After the series last year all my Philly fan friends were particularly nasty about the whole thing. Its like…really? I get sick of the “evil empire” crap hurled at Yankee fans, particularly since in some cases (::cough:: BOSTON)…its not as if they’re a poor underdog, so to speak.

Ok, I’m done stirring up trouble.

    For now.

(Though for the record, while I usually can’t bring myself to cheer for Philly teams, not even when McNabb went to the Eagles and all the SU fans jumped loyalties, I’m far more OK with passionate Philly fans than I am with New England sports fans. Or Pittsburgh for that matter. Grrr.)

  9. (So much for me not stirring up more trouble. 😉 )

  10. I wanted to try those Chang’s meals, I guess now I’ll have to : )

  11. Wow, that looks pretty legit! I would have believe you if you had said it was from the actual restaurant.

  12. Have fun! My office is actually letting us all go to a bar to watch the 2nd half tomorrow.
