A little too much fun

Well, Saturday night was delightful and if anything it definitely served as a reminder as to why I no longer drink like I used to in college.  My old and washed-up self cannot handle it.  I spent the entire day yesterday either on the couch or in my bathroom throwing up.  Gross.

I blame the table of alcohol, and my lack of self-control apparently.  Oh well, you live ya learn.  I think the best part of the night was playing The Beatles Rock Band until 2 am, I am a champion, let me just say that right now.  Paige was very tired and not amused by our loud singing.

Also, around 11 or 12 I think we stumbled upon a Britney Spears tribute on the FUSE network, playing all of her old most popular videos.  It is safe to say that a Brit Brit dance party immediately ensued and didn’t stop until the boys changed the channel on us.  Here’s a picture of Ashley, Michelle, and I still somewhat early in the night before we got completely out of hand.

Seeing as I was completely out of commission yesterday, I watched a lot of Lifetime.  There were some quality movies on, and while Misha Barton’s life may be in the gutter she can still play a crazy ex-gf pretty damn well.  I also sat through a horrible Lindsay Lohan movie, I Know Who Killed Me.  Awful, I think the only reason I didn’t change the channel was because I couldn’t reach the remote.  I wonder if Lifetime was running a theme yesterday of “actresses who used to have careers” because there was a movie with Elizabeth Berkley on also.  Hmm…

Anyway, I was doing some online browsing earlier and realized that the ING Philadelphia Half Marathon is September 19 and registration is open.  I’m very tempted to sign up, but if I allow myself 13 weeks to train, that puts me at the end of June/first week of July and I’m wondering if I’ll be fully able to run by then.  I don’t want to sign up for another race and lose the entry fee like I did for Broad Street, but I also don’t want registration to close.  Thoughts?  I’m probably going to ask my physical therapist tonight was his thoughts are also.

Alright I hope everyone had a great weekend, I’ll be catching up my Google reader throughout the day to see what everyone was up to!  Happy Monday!

  1. Lifetime: where actresses go to die.

  2. This post brings a new, fuller meaning to your blog name. Nothing quite makes me feel aged like a hangover.
My thoughts re: the half – pick something shorter. Yeah. Buzzkill over here. Leaves more time to up your alcohol tolerance!

  3. I laughed out loud to your table of booze because I am fully aware of the effects something like that can have on someone! I’m glad you were able to have fun though, and sometimes a day of hangover/lifetime movies is exactly what you need to get your butt in gear!

I’d almost say wait it out with the ½ marry…I know from experience that running on an injury is only going to make it more complicated/painful. However, 13 weeks is a long time and the first few weeks will be simple runs that won’t be too hard on the problem. What do I know, ask your PT! 

I’m glad you had a great weekend!

    • Yes, it was a perfect lazy Sunday. I’m definitely going to ask him, but Ihave a feeling he’s going to say well let’s wait and see when we can discharge you.

  4. I can only take so much lifetime before my eyes start to cross… lol.

And your friends sound a lot like mine! We used to play our favs of the 90’s and rock out. Lisa Loeb’s stay was almost ALWAYS included… our guy friends hated that part of the night.

    • Haha yeah, I was switching back and forth between lifetime and the masters. Luckily the only boys present were significant others so they tolerated it.

  5. I can’t drink like I used to either. Maybe its part of getting older?
I remember drinking all night, getting home at 2am and then getting up for work at 7. That idea now makes me want to cry.

  6. Oh my gosh… I Know Who Killed Me was the WORST movie I’ve ever seen!!! It was hilarious to me because it was so bad. My ex and I watched it for fun one day just to make fun of it.. along with Snakes on a Plane.
If I drank all that, i’d be out of commission too. Drinking doesn’t make me sick but it gives me the WORST headaches.

I would ask your Physical Therapist about the race too. I’ve already lost 2 entry fees for races so next time I’m not going to be signing up unless i’m good and sure that I can run it.
    Have a great monday!

  7. All I saw at first was the top two pictures and I thought you got the dog hammered.

  8. Sorry you had a hangover honey but I couldn’t help but smile! 🙂

  9. Oh darn the aging liver.

But Brit dance party and lifetime marathon? Sign me up!

  10. Sorry about the hangover. Hope you are feeling better today. I have come to the conclusion that I really cannot drink liquor without feeling yucky the next day. I’m a bit older that you though, so you have a few more good years in ya!

  11. blahhhhh hangovers are the worst! it sound like you had a fantastic time though!

    • Yeah, I would say it was almost worth it. I suppose since I only get that hungover when I hangout with those girls I should have known it was coming.

  12. I am going to sign up for the ING but like you I’m holding off a bit. Once I finish my first 5k I’ll do it; I really want to, but I do have a track record of big ideas and not so big follow ups haha.

  13. have a great week!

  14. Hah, yeah, I’m a grandma compared to my college days. My senior year there were times I went out 5 days outta the week! Holy drinking!

I’m the same way when hungover….sleeping all day watching Lifetime movies 🙂

  15. hahah you crack me up about the lifetime comment, and then the where actresses go to die was great too!

Hungovers are so much worse when we get older too huh? what happened to the good ole days where hangovers never seemed to be that big of a deal.

  16. I’m a lightweight now, too. My husband calls me a cheap date, so I guess there’s the positive in a low tolerance 🙂
