Well, it’s here. It has been exactly three weeks since I last stepped foot on a treadmill and gone for a run, and today marks the day I’m allowed to try again. My Orthopedist recommended no more than 2 miles, so that is the goal, unless I start to feel pain, then I plan to stop immediately. I’m actually very nervous, because I was having some random pain yesterday, but hopefully with some good stretching before and after it will be alright.
Last nights dinner was my first experiment with Tofu, and while I didn’t mind the Tofu at all, I should have made sure that I like the BBQ sauce I was basing my entire meal around. It was a sweet southern BBQ sauce, and I hated it. I managed to eat a little less than half of my pizza before giving up. That’s what I get for not trying the sauce first I suppose. Also, sorry for the terrible Blackberry pictures, but I left my camera battery charger in NYC so these will have to do.
It looks good in theory, red pepper, orange pepper, onion, mozzarella cheese, tofu marinated in BBQ sauce, and some blue cheese crumbles.
It’s so sad when you’re looking forward to a meal so much, and it just ends up disappointing you. But if anyone wants half a BBQ tofu pizza, I have some! Needless to say after my major dinner fail I was in a super grumpy mood, and still very hungry. Luckily, my mom called me a few minutes later and asked if I wanted to go grab some dinner with her and her bf, normally I would decline, but I was starving and it was a free meal. The place we went to is just across the street, an Italian BYOB called Christine’s. I think my mom likes it because they share a name. After perusing the menu for a good 20 minutes, I finally decided on the Marinated Chicken Breast with mashed potatoes, asparagus, garnished with tomato bruschetta, and a drizzle of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. First I enjoyed a warm roll.
When the waitress put my plate in front of me, I couldn’t help but laugh at the size of this dinner platter.
Three chicken breasts? I mean seriously, who can eat that much. I asked if she could please just bring a box over now, and I put two of the chicken breasts, and two pieces of asparagus in there to bring home. One of those breasts of chicken is serving as a nice little wrap for my lunch today. Um, I could eat mashed potatoes for every meal, as a meal, so there were none of those left.
When I got home, I returned to my Keeping up with the Kardashian’s marathon, and a little USA vs Canada action in hockey. (Sorry in advance to my Canadian readers) Wooooooooo go team USA! The bf and I were on the phone during most of that game, and screaming in each others ears every time America scored. It was special. I could not believe when that last diving shot at the open net went into the goal. It was a great game, well played Canada, well played.
The season finale of Kardashian’s was when Kourtney gave birth, and I may have teared up a little, and then got very weirded out by the fact that she helped pull out her own baby. Is that really allowed? I don’t think I want to be part of that. I’m hoping to remember as little about the giving birth process as humanely possible, I definitely don’t want to be my own doctor.
Well, I hope everyone has a great Monday. It’s the last week of February which means spring is just around the corner, thank god. I want all this snow that is still on the ground gone!

Yum…that BBQ tofu pizza looks amazing!!! Update us on the run! I am excited for you!!!
I’ll be sure to keep everyone posted! And it did look good, i’ll have to try again with a different bbq sauce.
We used to serve three chicken breasts on a plate where I served a long time ago. They were big. I feel funny saying that.
I’m sorry your pizza was a buzzkill, but I hope the run cures your ills!
haha that’s what she said? Thanks, i’m anticipating it a lot!
I really hope today is the day you get to run!
And I’ve noticed, too- those Italians really know how to chow down! After 1/3 of my meal, I’m usually half asleep in carb coma… ha
I hope so too! Oh my god it was so much food!
I am completely incapable of saving anything for elftovers (as you know). The obvious solution is to not make the max amount, but I’m as inept at making small portions as I am at eating them. If I ever opened a restaurant it would definitely be family style.
Haha, it’s true you really can’t do any of those things. Works out well for us though when I can’t finish my meal. Just pass it over to ya.
I would think a normal doctor would recommend that you don’t try to act as your own OB/GYN. It seems pretty obvious but maybe not.
Haha, I mean, I thought that seemed pretty obvious also.
That pizza looks so good, such a shame about the sauce! That kind of thing is SUCH a let down!
Good luck with the running!!
I know, I keep looking at the pictures thinking how good it looked. It was such a let down, so sad.
I’ve NEVER seen the Kardashian show. I’m too invested in Tool Academy. That tofu looks SO so good. Sorry about the BBQ- if we were neighbors I would have taken it off your hands!
You’ve never seen it?! Oh man, it’s my guilty pleasure, I love Kim. I would have gladly shared!
1. She helped pull out her baby?! Is that possible? And why would you want to do that? I might have to go watch that episode.
And 2. HOW’D the run go????
Yeah, I have no idea, seemed strange to me also. The run was not good, I was/am in a very bad mood.
[…] have to say, this tofu experiment was a much bigger success than my pizza disaster. I tried it as soon as it was done, and was very happy. Some of this is my lunch today, the […]
