Bermuda, Bahama, come on pretty mama

This morning I glanced at my calendar and realized that this time last year I was packing to leave for my week-long vacation in the Caribbean.  One night in Miami, and then a seven-day cruise to Nassau, St. Thomas, and St. Maarten.  Holy shit, it’s been a full year since I last had a vacation.  Where the hell does time go?  And while I would never in a million years want to be back on that same vacation with that same person, I would very much like to be spending the next week in a tropical environment.  Sometimes it’s hard to not think of that trip as a giant waste of time and money, but then I remember swimming with dolphins, taking a Catamaran to a private island, the Eagles beating the Giants in the first round of the playoffs, and the beautiful beaches of  St. Thomas, and realize those are the important memories.

That vacation ended up costing so much more money than I originally thought it would.  Next time I go on vacation, whether it’s anytime soon or not, I think an all-inclusive resort would be much more economical.  My friend Ashley just got back from a Sandals resort in St. Lucia and said it was incredible.  Here’s to hoping I can afford a vacation sometime in this next year!
